250 at Costco
↵NO. As already discussed on here the Costco monitor has a cheaper to make VA panel. The IPS monitor posted here is a different model than the one at Costco..

Amazon reviews say that the IPS bleed is pretty bad. Anyone have this monitor that can speak to that or where it would be a noticeable issue?
The bleed is very bad when you turn up the brightness to 100%. This may be the setting you want when in HDR mode so it's not negligible.

I do not think IPS vs VA has anything to do speed. It has to do with color, which is better on the IPS vs VA. But VA has better contrast and blacks, so it is said to be better at reading and office functions. They say VA is the best compromise to suit all the different user requirements..
Professional IPS monitors tend to have slow response time in general. This is one of a breed of IPS "compromise" panels that sacrifice some of their color fidelity for response time. As you said, IPS panels excel in color accuracy and viewing angle, while the VA has a higher contrast ratio. So VA panels can produce deeper blacks, but are not nearly as color-accurate and have very narrow viewing angles. Also, VA panels in this price range do not have local dimming so their higher contrast ratio is never fully utilized. They each have their use. I have a 32" Dell S3220DFG, which is an edge-lit VA panel. I also have a 27" Dell U2751H IPS. I do my photo editing on the IPS panel; and gaming or movie watching on the VA.

I've been debating VA vs IPS for the past few weeks and this was one of the monitors I've considered. I think if I were to go the IPS route I would probably choose the Gigabyte M32Q because it's virtually identical to this except it has a 1100:1 contrast ratio which is about 35% more contrast, although it sounds like they both have noticeable backlight glow which might be really distracting for me. I'm going to Walmart later to see if they have the LG 32GN600-B in stock for $250, which is a VA panel that's the same as the 32GN650-B. If they have it I might try that out as the high contrast and deep blacks in dark environments appeals to me. If I can't handle the downsides of VA I could return or sell it and try IPS.

I did also consider a Hisense TV for a monitor since those have very good response times and image quality and the U6G is only $400 for the 50", but then I thought I might prefer to have 120hz for gaming and the U7G is at least 50% more expensive and it's even bigger so probably just too big for a desk. A new monitor might be better to start with.

This looks really similar to: https://www.costco.com/lg-ultrage...93191.html but $100 less. Granted I didn't do a feature compare yet. But just from the description seems like the same. Maybe I missed the obvious difference?
Costco's is VA panel. This one is IPS.

I returned one for that issue, along with the very low contrast.

I know it's a lower model compared to LG 38GL950G-B.
But I am confused that is it worth to spend that much or I should get this one instead 🤔

Go for dual LG 27GL83A-B cheaper and wider than a single 38". I have the 38GL950G, while it is great as a single monitor, I could've gotten four LG 27GL83A-B and had money left over.

I bought this about 2 months ago, the IPS glow is noticeable at first, after a while I guess my eyes are just used to it and really don't bother me at all currently, coloring on the monitor is really nice, I bought it since it has the HDR option and a good size screen, the HDR is really glitchy while I was using it on my laptop, this monitor is connected via TB4 on my laptop running 165Hz on 10-bit color with no issues, however hardware glitch or whatever it might be, when I have Optimus off MUX switch, switching on HDR windows 11, the colors are washed out and darkened, with Optimus on it seems there's no issues another thing is Netflix App can't seem to play HDR movies with HDR mode on using the monitor with laptop, but if you run netflix on a browser it doesn't have an issue.
I do not run games much but I love this monitor over my old Acer XG270HU everything seems to look a hell lot better, runs smoothly and rich in colors with HDR off out of the box

Just sharing my personal opinion about it, hope it helps

At this price point, 10 bit color IPS at 165hz is insane. If i had the money and absolutely needed it, i would get this in a heart beat.
