Even though I have one, Discover is a complete joke of a card now. Every single benefit that the card gave worth having (price match, extended protection, travel insurance, etc) has been stripped and now they act like being able to lock your card from your app is such a great feature and a reason to have one.

Me, about to use one of my credit card for a random purchase: maybe this card, that has complex cycle and activation for reward, has reward for me, maybe.
I call it a successful marketing.

Call it deal or not, my wife and I pay 95% of our monthly bills using rewards cards. We already have $20 earned using Discover this quarter for visits to grocery stores. It all adds up and when gas goes to $4.00 a gallon soon, 5% off will mean $.20 a gallon less.

5% off will beat the $.10 a gallon we get off at BJ's by using their Mastercard. As of today the 5% off means right around 17 cents a gallon rather than that 10 cents. Cad rewards paid us a lot last year. Earned $400 from Bank of America for my wife's new card and my new card in addition to countless other rewards from our Cap 1 and Discover cards. We never pay interest to any of them. They pay us for using their cards.

As a discover card holder these benefits are either non existant or I'm dumb. I activated my card and shopped at "kroger, publix, aldi" and still didn't get cashback Big Grin
