Even though I have one, Discover is a complete joke of a card now. Every single benefit that the card gave worth having (price match, extended protection, travel insurance, etc) has been stripped and now they act like being able to lock your card from your app is such a great feature and a reason to have one.

Agreed. And another "benefit" of a Discover card is no foreign transaction fees, yet very few, if any places, take Discover card outside of US. LMAO

Anyone going to chance Grocery store 5% back on a $500 Visa prepaid gift card? From my reading, it was working a couple years ago. Not sure now though.

I agree. Customer service at discover is actually great. After dealing with out banking customer service I Discover is so much better. The most I ever had to wait for a rep was 14 minutes.

Discover does not stand behind their customers with purchase protection. I got ripped off by a budget rental in lax airport (worst rental experience I've ever had, I wouldn't rent a roller skate from them now) and Discover credited me the refund, but then 6 months later took it back. Long story short they don't care about the details, just whatever a company can put on paper. I refuse to purchase anything of significance using the card because they don't have your back, I would recommend the same to everyone on this forum. Sad.

Discover is accepted In the countries where UnionPay is accepted. So, the biggest one is China.

Yep. So in addition to a couple Discover cards, we use Capital 1 cards ( 1.5% to 3% rewards), Walmart Capital 1 card (2% reward in the store) , Bank of America card (1.5% reward) , and a couple others. Cash is never used and we pay off all of our cards each month. So they pay us. The 5% bonus on the wife's Discover for various categories is real nice.
