In for one. I'm hoping the majority of the returns are for the pink hue the EVO screen is known for/normal. Or people wanting bigger. Roll the dice baby.
Only the 77" has the evo panels I thought? I know the 55" and 65" have that matte screen.

The A8 had exactly 50 hours. Not really sure how accurate that is. I was told if you do a factory reset it also resets the hours. I have yet to test that theory out.

I was told it was returned the day before I picked it up. The day it was returned a new one was $2,499. The next day new was on sale for $1,499. The open box, excellent condition was marked $1,599. I showed the manager that it was more than the new and he asked if $1,049 was OK. Done deal.
I think it can only be done through the service menu. So I doubt it. Sounds like a buyers remorse return to me. Enjoy it, cause it's an amazing TV!

55" and 65" have been a toss up for a while now. These days, you'll likely get an Evo panel

I looked up the CPS warranty and most people have nothing good to say about it. Anyone have any input? The warranty pretty much sells this. If it's useless, I'd hate to have 90 days...

Hope that's true. My GF and I joked wondering if the person that returned it paid the regular price of $2,499 and didn't see they went on sale for $1,499 the day after it was returned. I'd have buyers remorse as well at $2,499.

Forgot about the matte screen. Could be another reason for returns. But the A80j is rated incredibly high regardless. Hopefully I like it, will be here Monday according to fedex.

I just called Buydig customer service and advised I wanted to cancel the order due to not being comfortable with the CPS warranty. The rep offered me $90 refund and then I said I'm not sure and she increased to $100. The main thing is she stated Sony covers the first 12 months of ownership under warranty and then CPS kicks in for years 2-5. I'm much more comfortable knowing Sony backs it for a year initially. Shout out to previous poster who advised re: offer to discount if cancelling.

AFAIK the difference between Sony and LG is that while LG might give you a courtesy warranty replacement no matter where and how you bought it, Sony won't even warranty past 90 days for a refurb.

Not sure about CPS. Though it does look like they try to resolve disputes.

Refurb on an oled is really iffy. I bought an LG Oled from a surplus reseller that resold returns from amazon and big box stores. Nearly 40% off. But the two tv's were horrible. The 55" Sony had horrendous backlight bleed. And the LG OLED had horrible gray banding smack down the middle of the screen. Showed up every time screen was grayis like the xbox splash screen or dark scenes. It was clear that was the reason the tv's were returned. Unfortunately for me, it was final sale. I had to live with that crap for 3 years before moving and buying brand new LG OLEDs that were perfect.

Think about it: we buy OLEDs for the picture quality. Imagine the picture quality was crap. Would you take a 30% discount in exchange for that?

I was seriously about to pull the trigger on this but saw on RTINGS that it doesn't support VRR.
Not yet but Sony says they'll add it via firmware. Hopefully this decade.
