I recently bought this and am really amazed by its performance. I washed a large eight seater sectional and several area rugs and it did an outstanding job (on par with commercial grade rentals). The only downside is that the tank size is relatively small (one gallon) and you would need to frequently refill if you're doing a large area.

This model is very similar to models 1964 (sold by Walmart) and 1986 (sold by Amazon) barring the color and the upholstery attachment which is different in shape. The Costco model also comes with a stair attachment which I think is missing from Amazon and Walmart models. Overall this is a great buy and I highly recommend it.

PS: There's also a 1548 model that is very similar to this model and regularly sells for $200. Performance-wise they are the same. That one just misses a few minor bells and whistles. See this for a comparison: https://youtu.be/b1l47ETTgUg You could probably find a better deal on that, but this one is definitely a good buy too.

Very easy. The instructions make it look harder than it is.

I bought this about a week ago too after waiting for it to go on sale. Easy enough to request a price adjustment.

Also something to note, this ends up being shipped from Bissell directly and inside the box they include two sample size solutions, one cleaner and one booster. They're good for about three fills.

In my box there was a paper saying they couldn't include a solution and it had a coupon to just order one on their site for a buck up to 25 dollar value. Make sure you look through all the papers in the box because I almost threw it out.

I work in manufacturing and I assure you there are not innovations that would improve the product in 4 years you'd be missing out on (TVs are an exception as they continously change basic technologies and use faster computing hardware). In fact even over 10 years there's hardly any end user improvements made. Most engineering effort is around cost reduction and improving efficiencies if applicable. I can't imagine something as ubiquitous as carpet cleaning technology has much more incremental improvement to give in 4 years.

I bought this the last time it went on sale for 199.99 - cleaning it is pretty easy and it spot clean a few cat vomit pretty easily.

We tried this and ended up buying the big green

It was about $300 at kohls with all the discounts

Much easier but everything is on top of each other so refilling the cleaner fluid make you take off the dirty tank along with the process which can change the difficulty of just adding more cleaner fluid

I would say the big green is much more simplified; the clean shot for this isn't much of a feature and can waste a lot of fluid or accidentally make a mess

The cleaning tray wasn't as intuitive and still made a mess; i like how it was Modular and clear plastic (not sure if it's going to stay clear from scratches or grime) the rollers could be cleaned much more frequently if you like but realistically that takes away from it being such a convenient product to just let it clean and keep your hands clean as well; the hose is stiff but durable; it's not clear anywhere so it's not as satisfying to see all the dirty stuff get sucked away. It's prone to always have fluid in it (dirty fluid) cause it's so long so I recommend anyone let it hang to dry vertically if it has been used for the less than desirable messes

When I was spending always $200 for top tier performance then going $300 wasn't as bad for the big green; $450 msrp is a little much though

This unit goes for $200 frequently so this wouldn't be as easy of a no brainier

Wondering the same thing.

My mother has two large area rugs with lots of traffic. They need a good wash/cleaning.

I've been meaning to rent a Rug Doctor for some time. Does once a year wash suffice? Multiple times a year?

Suggestions from anyone who regularly washes their rugs would be appreciated.

seems pretty good beside the capacity after several youtube videos
Thanks!

I bought some bissel model used from the market place and I did the mistake of washing it with a pressure washer.

I ended up damaging the washer betweem the cleaner and dirt tank,

I dont like the complex cleaning of my current model, thankfully the current one works even after my fark up so gonna let it die before I buy

I just had a "cheapie" hoover brand carpet cleaner die I spent like $120 on a few years back. Tempted to get this but it looks like it's a pretty old model (reviews on costco are from as long as 4 years ago) so kinda leery about that.

Shark doesn't make/sell a carpet cleaner (at least that I'm aware of). This is an actual carpet shampooer that then sucks up the water

Meaning lifetime satisfaction. I only buy vacuums from Costco. Dyson likes to die every 5 years

So I return it. Lol I'm like one of the hardest abusers of returns. Took a tent 10 years later bsck last year. Never even opened it, found in attic. Refunded

If anything it's the opposite with most things. After my few year old Shark broke I got curious and tried out the 90s Hooverwind Tunnel is my basement since I moved in. Motor worked, no brush roll though. I opened it up and threw the belt back on and it's been working for months. I found out after they are still sought after and supported with parts.
