These speakers are big, they sound great. I got a set of them as part of a living room home theater and I use them as mains in that system. They sound really good, the LTS Titanium Tweeter with horn really makes brass instruments sound great. There is plenty of good bass with the 2 - 8" Drivers that are rear ported. The newer version is very similar, so if you are looking to save a little money, you can't go wrong with these previous gen models. These would be good for 2 channel or as part of a home theater.
The Klipsch 280F or Energy RC-70 or JBL Studio 590. What is the rational behind your choice??
280f are dual 8in woofers and a 1in horn tweeter... Energy is owned by Klipsch and more budget oriented. No horn tweeter, which some people might actually like having a dome tweeter, but the woofers are 5.5in and dual 6.5in. It doesn't hit as high and it doesn't hit as low... so likely want to scratch that off the list.
590s have good sound especially for the sale price, like now. It might be a tad, tit-for-tat comparing sound qualities, especially since thats pretty subjective depending on positioning and the room they are in so I would actually just decide based on aesthetics:
Will the speaker grills be left on? Get the 590s. If the grills will be off, get the Klipsch. I know that seems dumb, but I can't give a real preference over one or the other at these prices.
