There's a time and place for Basmati but there's also a time and place for short grain. There's multiple generations of people who say Basmati is the best because they grew up with it being the most expensive rice but now it is pretty cheap and objectively it's just a different texture and aroma.

Was wondering the same, as Nishiki is about 2-3$ less.

I am obviously a noob when it comes to rice, I have no clue what the difference is between this and any other rice aside from brown which I eat. Frontpage though, obviously I am missing out on something.

IMO, give this a try. A 4.4lb goes pretty quickly and at the very least, this isn't going to be bad rice where you'll struggle to want to eat it. You might end up loving it!

It has a slightly different taste, and a slightly different texture when cooked the same way (I just use a rice cooker, lol). I went on a sampling spree from a Asian market a few years back and I chose this brand. Taste has been consistent when available across the years, and I always end up missing it when I try a different brand, lol.
