Man, these new apple devices keep going up in price each year they're released. Much higher than the rate of inflation!
Don't buy one then. Do you people walk into physical stores and announce loudly "WELL I WOULDN'T BUY ANY OF THIS SHIT" then leave? I'm just trying to understand the pathology behind 4000 identical comments on every apple thread.

I just got this from apple on the 27th for $1849.
Does anyone know if apple will adjust the price to match Costco. Or would I have to just return it and buy a new one.
You'll have to return. Apple doesn't price match their own product.

What does the Costco warranty cover on apple items?
Apple stores can do up to a 10% discount to price match an item sold elsewhere. so yes you can still get the difference. not sure if it must be done at time of purchase but if so maybe they don't want a return and lose value on resell as refurbished so they may do it.... if not then buy it return and rebuy from costco or cheaper vendor.

Whole different animal than previous models. All it shares is the name. But you can still buy the M1 13" MacBook Pro for $1150.
Yup the M1 pro was essentially an Air with better cooling. This thing is on another level

Why would Apple adjust the price? This is sold at Costco.
apple has a price match policy up to 10% off their items if another reputable seller has it for less. it's good information and it was a good question by the other member.

I think premium credit cards like Chase Sapphire Preferred/Reserve might do this? Got to check the details again to be sure but I know price matching was an option under certain circumstances

I recently got the 2020 M1 MacBook Air (16gb/1TB) for just about $1500 from the Apple refurbished store. Everything has been smooth sailing so far. Not sure what kind of real-world benefit the M1 Pro would give.

Also this model has only 512GB storage which I cannot recommend to anyone who uses their laptop for any kind of "real" work. On my old 512GB MacBook I was plagued for years with storage shortages when I tried to do both image editing (maintain a small local image cache) + VM's and Docker for dev projects.

While I'm obviously biased towards my own usages and choices I have a hard time seeing this as a better deal than a $1200-1400 refurbished model MBA directly from Apple themselves. The choice is yours.

For one it's just a dumb comment but it's also not even close to being true. I paid $2200 for my macbook pro back in 2012 and just replaced it with a 14" m1 pro macbook pro (the model above the one in this thread) and paid $2200 for it. The comparable 16" model would have been about $2300.

So no, they're not rising at a rate higher than inflation. If anything, they've been pretty constant.

For as long as the macbook air has been out, it's almost always been available for about $999.

There may be an M2 but it'll replace the 2020 M1 Pro, not the 2021. This one should theoretically be the more powerful.

I have no idea if any Citi card has it. But Costco Citi card does because, well, you're shopping at Costco!

Not everyone needs loads of storage, I have a 256GB M1 MBP 16GB, for me the Ram upgrade was more important. Might consider upgrading to the 14 inch.

You mean it will replace the 2020 M1...there is no 2020 M1 Pro.
