HDR will be terrible on all monitors in this range. I have the Dell 27 inch IPS monitor and leave HDR off becuase it looks better.
I bought 2 of these monitors last year. So far they have been great.
I don't game as much as I used too. But when I do, color looks good and
perform fine at 1440p. If you are a heavy gamer. I'm sure you will see the flaws more then me.
No complaints so far.
I have the Costco 32" version of this and as others have said, the HDR looks awful out of the box. You need to install the color profile on the support page to really make it work [lg.com] Mine looks fantastic after setting that up.

I just read that the Costco version is a VA panel... I would be using my monitor primarily for work so I think this smaller IPS may be the way to go for me.

There's nothing wrong with a VA panel especially for work with the exception if you do photo/video editing than an IPS panel is better. I have a different version of the Costco LG monitor for work and it's great.

🤔

Looked that up on Amazon and it says "renewed" as in refurbished. Thanks for sharing

I work with spreadsheets.

Does the LG VA panel handle text scrolling well? I may poke around on YouTube and see if anyone has tested that

Yep, but I use mine with a Macbook Pro so I can't say how it is with a Windows PC. Great thing about the 32" is being able to pull two spreadsheets side by side on the screen. For $250, it's prob the best bang for your buck monitor. I will mention that LG's stands are pretty shitty and would recommend getting a mount for better height adjustment.

Have this. Got the icc profile and settings online but I feel like its matte coating is making the display look dull. It gets fairly bright but the colors just don't "pop"

Agreed. I have one too and the HDR is fake. Can't use it with PS4, which is one of the main reasons I bought it. It detects a HDR signal, but the dynamic range is so limited that you can't actually use it. But I needed a new monitor anyway and have been enjoying a high refresh rate for the first time.

Around $280ish last year during holidays if I'm not mistaken for the Gigabyte.

Yup, got it for that price in December and am very happy with it. Colors are good and blacklight bleed is very minimal.

In this price range don't expect a good HDR experience. You need decent brightness (600+ nits) and FALD or OLED to provide gorgeous contrast.

Just fyi: The one at Costco is VA, while the one here is IPS.

No. That's expired and it's also lower resolution.

Have two from 2020, both have issues with HDMI ports failing.

saw this yesterday, but rtings review said it's only okay. The Gigabyte M27Q go downs to $319 pretty often and it seems like that one is much better for 40 dollars more.
If you want to use this other than gaming, I'd look into the BGR subpixel layout the Gigabyte has and if that will be a dealbreaker for you.

We decreased the text clarity score from 7.5 to 7.0. The BGR subpixel layout isn't an issue in apps that support ClearType, but there are many apps that don't, and text clarity is an issue in those apps.

I just got this LG and it supports 120Hz @ 1920x1080, so it works great for PS5 games that support 120Hz (like Warzone and Vanguard).

And here's the tl;dr from rtings on this LG:

The LG 27GL83A-B is a very good monitor with a 27 inch, 1440p IPS screen. It delivers a great gaming experience with extremely low input lag, an outstanding response time, and a few great gaming features. It supports AMD's FreeSync variable refresh rate technology (VRR), but it's also certified by NVIDIA to support VRR from recent NVIDIA graphics cards. It has wide viewing angles, good reflection handling, and very good peak brightness, so glare shouldn't be an issue. As a more budget-oriented model, it has a pretty basic stand, with limited ergonomics and no RGB lighting. Although it supports HDR, this doesn't really add much, as it can't get bright enough to deliver a true HDR experience and has a low contrast ratio.

And how the LG compares to the Gigabyte M27Q:

The Gigabyte M27Q and the LG 27GL83A-B are quite similar as they're both 27 inch IPS gaming monitors with a 1440p resolution. In terms of gaming performance, the main difference is that the Gigabyte has a higher refresh rate of 170Hz compared to the LG's 144Hz, but it has a slightly slower response time. The Gigabyte is better for content creation because it has a much better SDR and HDR color gamut, as well as better accuracy out of the box. It also has more features, like a Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture mode, and a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. However, the LG has wider viewing angles if you need to share your screen often, and it can rotate to portrait mode, which the Gigabyte can't.

If you're using multiple input sources, might check to make sure this monitor has input source auto switch. I have the LG 27GL83A-B and it doesn't auto switch
This deal is the 27GL83A-B. I previously had a monitor with only 1 HDMI port and was using an HDMI switcher to switch between my PS5 and Mac Mini. But now I just hooked up both to the LG and it auto-switches just fine IF my Mac is at the login screen.
