Walmart has the AT&T prepaid Alcatel Smartflip Now for $14 on Clearance. It was in stock for that price earlier this morning on the website so check back frequently. May be in stock at select local stores but YMMV.

Brickseek UPC Number: 889063507493

Model: 4052R, AT&T HD Voice(VoLTE) ready.

*For Brickseek: search the UPC and it will show $22 but if you click and search locally some stores are now showing the $14 clearance price.

**Added Wiki from other thread to this one with specs and unlock policy.

If I can find one near me, this would be great to have in the car as an extra phone just in case.

Curious as to how this would work.
Would you keep it always in service, paying some cheap plan rate? I like the idea of a backup phone

I would use a cheap company like red pocket that offers cheap prices on yearly plans that only includes talk and text. Well, maybe not red pocket because this is AT&T locked but I'm sure there's something compatible

In an emergency, any phone can dial 911 as long as it can reach a network

Redpocket GSMA (att) SIM will work even though it's ATT locked. $60/year eBay is the cheapest. I did this last year. All ATT locked phones accept ATT MVNO SIM cards.

If you want to "SIM UNLOCK" the phone. You can pay $5-$10 for unlocking service from FleaBay.

It's *remotely* done. Someone is controlling your computer remotely while your phone is connected to that computer. Use a burner computer. LOL

Is it possible to use this as a hotspot? Looking for an extra backup for my Red Pocket GSMA line, just in case.
