Agreed. If Zuckers is convenient I'll totally go for it, but Ess-a-bagel is two blocks from my apartment so it's a no brainer. As for freezing and reheating, the best method is one I learned from J. Kenji Lopez-Alt: Preheat oven to 375 or so, then run the frozen bagel under running water. Shake off the excess, place the WHOLE, UNCUT bagel in the oven for 5-10 minutes. Should come out perfect every time and is my favorite way to defrost frozen bagels now.
Yikes! Check out the yelp reviews for any of the Zuckers in NYC. Not good. Was going to order until I saw the overwhelming avalanche of poor reviews, including B health scores, hairs in the bagels, burnt bagels, bad bagels, poor customer service etc etc.
I went to an event once that gave out $50 off $50 goldbelly coupons. I got like 10 coupons at the event. It was awesome and I dream of getting something like that again.

Fun Fact - pies and chocolate hold up the best when ordered through goldbelly. Cookies and cupcakes held up the worst.

In for one as well. I'm missing NYC bagels and with this I can get them shipped to my door. For about $1 a bagel with shipping included, that's a pretty good deal. Let's hope they taste ok and don't have hairs

My buddy summed it up best when he got out of the military. He said "While I was in the Army, I met a lot of people from Texas and New York, and they both had one consistent thing in common. They both thought that the place they came from had the best of everything. Through these many years, I'm come to realize that the people from Texas are right more often than not, and the people from New York just like to sound like they are."

I've come to agree on this point and no longer covet anything that claims to be from New York.

Thanks but no thanks for your useless politicized viewpoint. Take this trash to reddit? If you had half a brain you'd know that NY bagels are the best because of both the bagel making tradition and the source of water which is extremely clean.

Anyway, if we are talking about comparing intellectual ability of New Yorkers versus Texans, per capita GDP speaks for itself, which can be considered as some degree of proxy for being right / knowing what you are talking about / putting money where your mouth is. NY per capita GDP is 43% higher than Texas' (91k vs 63k respectively) and has grown 16% in the past 5 years (6% higher than national avg growth) while Texas' has stayed flat for the past five years (9% LOWER than national avg growth). LOL.

a 3/5 in nyc is a 4/5 anywhere else. Plus I see a ton of great reviews too. Will never understand why people think the reviews that catch their eye are any more meaningful than the ones that don't. They're processed by algorithms and not even remotely fairly sampled. The only thing this tells you is that Zucker's doesn't pay Yelp for a premium account lol

Being easily manipulated by visible bad reviews instead of the overall distribution of reviews is exactly what Yelp wants from you, and what feeds their abusive business model.

New Yorker here. Zuckers have become a bit of a chain here in the city. They produce a fine hand rolled bagel, which believe it or not is harder and harder to come by these days. Long story short, if outside the NYC metro area, I would eat this up. You know what they say about NYC bagels! (Regardless of yelp reviews, all those things make NY food taste 'better'!)
Are they better than Zabar's? I always order from them and their bagels are very good.

I ordered from this deal and got them yesterday (two days shipping), came in big ziplock bags and not sure if they are frozen before shipping but they were half frozen and soaking wet. I toasted a couple and they were good but probably could get the same fresh locally. Not worth it in my opinion.

Which bagel place do you like in WA? Everything I've tried in Vancouver sucks...
Seattle bagel bakery. Their bagels are awesome. They deliver in the puget sound region and sell them in the local QFC's since I am in Tacoma the QFC better for me

Buyer beware on Goldbelly, they provide no support if you don't get what you paid for and explicitly say so in their terms:

"Goldbelly acts as a venue to allow users who comply with Goldbelly's policies to offer, sell, and buy certain food and related goods within a fixed price format. Goldbelly is not directly involved in the transaction between buyers and sellers. As a result, Goldbelly has no control over the quality, safety, morality or legality of any aspect of the items listed, the truth or accuracy of the listings, or the ability of sellers to sell items. Goldbelly does not pre-screen users or the content or information provided by users. Goldbelly cannot ensure that a buyer or seller will actually complete a transaction."

I once got the equivalent of a recipe that I needed to go buy the ingredients for and their customer support manager argued that was normal. If I'm going to have to go pick things up myself, not sure what benefit I'd get from Goldbelly.
I've had good customer service from Goldbelly in the past. I'm pretty amused to read they are excusing themselves from the "morality" of the items listed.

Notice how they don't post their ingredients? This is not by accident...

This is nonsensical. Did you read the reviews? Are you saying these reviewers lied? Where is the evidence that the reviews are "not remotely fairly sampled?

Do you wish we went back to the era where only the NYT Food Critic was allowed to review restaurants? Yelp and other forums (like SlickDeals!) put power in the people's hands to get their experience distributed, which until the last decade for regular people was basically limited to word-of-mouth and letters to the editor. I'll take more info over less.
