Good stuff, just seems really tame compared to the war crimes committed by the Nazi's.

This is a great movie. But not one that I need to see in hi-def. For those who feel differently, enjoy the deal!

Great movie but seems really tame now compared to the violent crime actually going on in NY, LA, Baltimore, Philly etc.
Totally true!

I heard it was a great movie. Though I've only ever read the book and that was at least 10 years ago.

Nice, I'll give it a shot. Nothing 4K yet but bluray would be great too and nice to have 4K for later.

I played this in the barracks once and a few other soldiers watched it with me. About halfway through they said I had mental issues. They kept watching though.

I was a kid in 80's, snuck down stairs after midnight to watch this on HBO because it had an (N) next to it in the TV guide. I have not watched it again. I still watched the whole thing though.

I showed this to my students (they needed permission slips) and it ended up being one of our best conversations ever as a class about order vs free will. Not a new topic by any means... And it will always be a good debate while we live in a supposed classical-liberalist society.

But make sure you know what you're getting into before watching this, or else it will give your brain the old in-out, in-out 🙃

General audiences weren't prepared for a movie like A Clockwork Orange in the early 1970s but unfortunately it's not quite the shock to contemporary audiences, having grown up in the Internet Age.

One of Kubrick's most important and powerful films. He was still at the height of his storytelling powers during this period. It's a reactionary piece of filmmaking to the general turbulence of the late 1960s, but has aged extremely well as traditional society sadly veers into Kubrick's twisted vision.

Great quote from Anthony Burgess, author of the novel. For context he was speaking on mind control (a punishment used in both the book and movie):

"We may not be able to trust man — meaning ourselves — very far, but we must trust the State far less."
