umm there is no "learning curve" with windows 11. If you already used to windows 10 then in no time you will be proficient in windows 11

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Len...869.0.html suggests the WiFi card is swappable. Intel AX200 should be ~$25 from Ebay to get WiFi6.

Except for wifi, this checks all the boxes. Great price! Do we know if the WiFi card is swappable?

RAM upgradable? A lot of these Ideapad 5 Pros have soldered RAM.
No, the review I linked earlier has photos of the internals, everything but SSD and WiFi card is soldered.

It's soldered to the board.

My store price in kansas city was 649.99. So $10 more to get one shipped.
If 2 different stores have the $650 price that's probably nationwide

I cant get it shipped as I am not a member so I could not even pay the 5% surcharge like I can for most items online- there are just a small number of items that they will not sell for the 5% upcharge to non members and this is one of them

(I use gift cards to get in but to buy this I may have to bring cash because once they refused to take my credit card as a non member in store for the amount over the cards value)

i would prefer to use plastic for the 2% cashback but I can't count on it

I got the AMD 5500u a while ago and returned it. I was shocked to see that the browsing was not as smooth as intel 1135g7! This was for my dad. I myself do not use lower powered series since I do heavy multitasking. I use H series (currently 11800H). I think having a lot of core limited the performance of each core on these lower end cpu series and that is why I was seeing smoother performance on 1135g7 on simple tasks. This is just my experience. Not really saying this brand is better or that just my experience with these lower powered cpus. Not sure about gaming performance since I do not game but you probably need dedicated gpu for gamers anyway.
Well 5500U is last generation p much.

5600U has higher single core and is proper Zen 3. 5500U is based on Zen 2.

16gb should be more than enough for users of this cpu. Your bottleneck is mostly the cpu and speed of ssd here. I am an app developer and using 11800h intel with 16gb . I would say 16gb is barely enough and not ideal for me and may upgrade to 32gb. But that is a monster cpu compared to this. Can not imagine why someone would want more than 16gb with this lower powered cpu for everyday task. AMD dedicates more ram to igpu, So 16 is really good spot for this cpu. Intel dedicate less and you will be fine with 8 ( as minimum) or 16(in case of wanting many programs open)

Well you gotta love the price! For me I would like a dedicated graphics card—which is unlikely at this price. But I hear that the next Gen AMD integrated graphics are going to be close to a dedicated graphics card. I don't play any of the games that require 8GB graphics cards so that is probably going to be good enough for me. So maybe in a few months this would be a great deal.

To be fair, those are different models, the ideapad 3 and 5. This is an Ideapad 5 Pro. It's got an aluminum case and someone in the BF thread confirmed when they opened it to upgrade the wifi that the hinge is metal, not plastic.

Yes, Lenovo reputation on broken hinges are not good, but hopefully they have fixed it.

My daughter had an Asus Vivobook with a broken hinge, but at least they repaired it under warranty. So I don't think Lenovo is the only one with issues.

Regret buying Ideadpad 5. There is white screen in chrome after i wake up the laptop from sleep. Takes about 30secs for tabs to refresh from the white screen. I tried disabling hardware acceleration and extensions but doesn't work.
This is actually a chrome bug I've had it on 4 laptops so far. If you minimize it and bring it back up it will fix itself

Yes i do that sometimes, but is there a permanent fix for it? It is certainly very annoying
How many of those were Lenovo laptops?
