How many of those were Lenovo laptops?
I want to avoid learning curves- a new computer is going to be a pain in itself with all the authentications & such
SMH
Still I may call my store to see if they have it on the shelf and if they do it would save the $10 shipping
And maybe even another $50 cheaper
Auth is a bit confusing as they are trying to do what Apple does well:
Have a local user
Allow full-integration into their cloud services
So far, it feels a bit ham-handed. If this is going to be YOUR computer and one user, it's probably very straightforward. I've not used touch screen on win11, but if you're going from 10, it's good to change now.
If you're coming from 8/8.1, you've been lobotomized (windows legacy UI/workflow) and 11 is going to be an uphill climb.

I hate being "that guy", but I am. Don't use Chrome (for a myriad of reasons).
That said, it is very arbitrary. As an example, when the end-of-life certain hardware that runs Chrome OS, existing bugs are only fixed in new versions and nothing is back ported. Obviously you can always upgrade chrome browser on Windows, but build-to-build you have no guarantees on something that is a "hardware issue" (from Google's standpoint).
This has a touch screen, which means it's already outside of the majority of hardware configurations people are using. It also has "shared memory" for the graphics, which people pan, but it actually functions as designed. Things like games (especially ones ported through a java launcher) look for hardwired memory and it will complain about your configuration doesn't work right. (Seeing this already on my son's Win8.1/Steam/32GB system 1GB card RAM).
That said, it could be related or not at all . . . chrome IIRC on windows launches many processes instead of threads; it would be annoying, but if you set it to restore browsing on re-launch, you can kill/reopen it.
If I were hard up for a PC and that were my only option, I'd script it and have a shortcut.
I had heard the Lenovo hinges were a problem but mine have held up well. However, the keyboard failed after 9 months, luckily still under warranty. After six weeks out for repair, they returned it to me but they disabled my fingerprint reader during repairs. And now, the USB-C is inoperative so no charging. Another unreliable laptop.
I may give ASUS or Acer a try next but I'm beginning to believe that ANY sub- $1500 laptop is junk. Luckily my Samsung Tablet has operated flawlessly. Maybe cheap Chromebooks are the way to go instead of shelling out $1000 bucks a year on these Chinese Windows bricks.
