No name?!? What are you talking about? It says right there Asus the famous electronics… wait a minute.
Well for starters D2 doesn't mean anything. Nobody will test it, and even if they do and it is D2, who knows if it's properly heat treated. Even if it is properly heat treated D2, it likes to rust and most people can't sharpen well so : /
I'd prefer to recommend entry level users spend $25-$35 on a name brand knife with a reliable warranty and good reviews that's easy to sharpen over some generic Chinese mystery blade emblazoned with "D2". Maybe something like a Kabar Dozier in AUS8 or an Ontario Rat 2 in AUS8 (or D2 for $12 more).
There's also a double action lightning OTF for $30 that's lots of fun to use and mess around with. Generic Chinese blades are a dime a dozen. Blah.

Is it on bearings or washers? I watched the video and read the description, no info.
In one of the photos it says "caged ball bearings" assuming they'll probably be steel. That being said i would definitely not buy this knife myself, get a Ganzo, Kubey, or spend a few more bucks and you can get a QSP penguin. I have the more expensive M390 penguin but my buddy has the D2 he's pretty happy with it for $30 i'd put money the extra 6 bucks or whatever would be worth it

I have a pretty vast collection of EDC knives... several that I have, have been used daily over the years and sharpened monthly. Kershaw is my favorite (affordable) brand that holds an edge well and sharpens well.
The Ausus version I have a few of comes as sharp as any handyman should need unless you need fresh box-cutter sharpness more than a dozen times a day.
I picked up that $10 Gerber folding razor holder to fit that category.
I'll be ordering a couple of these. I've ordered two bulk-orders from this site already. I'm happy to try out another of their discounted offerings. I have not tried to put an edge back on any Ausus knives as I haven't needed to yet... but I haven't carried one enough to judge that aspect. The machine is well built... so I hope this one is as well.
Looks that way. I avoid chinese made whenever possible.
I have a SOG and Spiderco that are us and Japan made. Held up great for many years.
I have 2-3 knives made in Spain and the build quality is impressive. First ran across a small mfg company from Spain at a gun show 20 years ago and was hooked. I also have two shotguns made in Spain too and while these are not high end like my herd of Perazzi, Zoli, Rizzini, and one Beretta, they have been flawless. My first Spanish shotgun was a AYA field double that cost me $300. and glad I held on to it as prices have climbed. The other is a over/under 2097 model Lanber I use often for sporting clays. CDNN were selling them for $500 years ago as they had no US dealers. It's time for a gun deal post!
