I understand enriched wheat flour and corn syrup can be bad for you, but what's wrong with soy protein and palm oil???

Well, it's actually palm kernel oil. Palm kernel oil is about 80 percent saturated fat and leads to increased LDL (bad) cholesterol. Soy protein is ok in moderation, I guess, but it's inferior to meat- and dairy-based proteins in a lot of ways.

One serving is one bar which is 100 grams and it has 27 grams of added "sugar". Most of that added sugar is probably not actual sugar but those bad ones like HCFs, etc.
