I miss Virtua Tennis on Sega Dreamcast

As an avid tennis player and lover of Mario Tennis and Virtual Tennis games, I was super disappointed in this. The controls seem extremely sluggish and the graphics are a little off. This game was free on Xbox Live a while ago so I didn't have to pay for it however I only found myself playing a couple of times and never going back to it. The roster of players is great, the gameplay was just in between sim and arcade and doesn't feel great.

Own this on the PC. Gameplay itself is fine and animations are smooth but something about it feels like a ver meh its presentation (limited crowd reactions, no ball boy/girl and umpire animations for instance) and for a game that came out as relatively recent as this the graphics overall are well beneath most sports games out there. Probably goes without saying by looking at the title but the Australian Open is the only licensed tournament in the game if you are care about that.

Agreed. What's the point in tennis or bowling if you're not swinging? I even have the hands free controller for Xbox but they dropped supporting it. I even forgot the name.

I have yet to find a tennis game that's as good as Virtua Tennis 2k2 for Dreamcast. Does such a game exist? Is this it?

Note to self, read full thread before commenting (my post above). Sounds like this is NOT the Virtua Tennis 2K2 killer I had hoped.

Two of the most boring players on both tours on the cover and the game play is awful. Save your money and pay for Tennis Elbow.
