It's the 24p (movies) and 1080p @ 120hz that I care about. Sony sets are fantastic at upscaling to 4K but that's why native 120hz is so imperative for watching non-4k content.
Also you should check out Rtings... this is an IPS panel, the blacks are trash.

I'm one of these. I can see the difference in black and contrast quality, but I have what I think is a very typical family room/great room setup where most watching isn't going to be dead center, and it's almost never going to be dark enough where inky blacks can be noticed by the family (not to mention that they don't care, lol).
Yeah, I'd love to get an OLED. But the cost-value isn't there for me, and I don't want any anxiety about burn-in. So IPS is a pretty good option for me. That said, I just got a Sony X85j, which seems to be a pretty rare beast, being a VA panel with good picture quality AND exceptional off-angle viewing, at $800 for 65" right now.
