The bandsaw is a very underappreciated tool. I don't use mine everyday but I do do a lot of fabrication and I can't imagine life without it. You're going to want to cut everything with it.

A deal as it's cheaper than it normally is, however, you can buy the deepcut bandsaw and the 4-1/2-5-1/2 fuel grinder combo for $20 more at $359. Or the hackable buy more save more promo, were if you buy over $499 of eligible M18 tools, you can save $150 on your purchase which brings the bandsaw price down to $288.47 according to my cart.

Bandsaw and impact driver 2553-20 makes the bandsaw $267 after hack. But a band saw and a 1/2" Fuel impact for $72 more makes this deal more tempting.

The BMSM promo is decent if you only want the bandsaw, but the savings is still only ~30% so better to buy the Special Buy of the Days if you want both items.

damnit... so the deal of the day works with military discount... so DC Bandsaw + 1/2" fuel impact was $305... the BMSM hack only got the bandsaw to $270's.. already got the mid 1/2 impact... so even if I get a C note for this one.. $205 for the saw? I feel like it's a win, but I'm half asleep. I really should hide my wallet from myself at night.

Holy shit… I waited a YEAR to find this bandsaw mutilated and probably hot/stolen on CL for $200. Absolute steal at this price.

Even as a DIY'er, it paid for itself in the first month. Cut conduit, some rebar, a 10' 400lb section of oak tree that fell off, and some cats off stock exhausts to sell… each which would have taken 30mins with a damn hack saw. Most useful tool (and still will say oddly so) in my kit.

If you're on the fence, pick it up.

I was looking at the HD hack and thinking about getting one, but I really can't justify buying one. All the use cases you mentioned could also easily be done with a grinder w/ cutoff wheel or a hackzall/sawzall, which both have numerous other uses, and which I already have.

I'm sure these band saws are useful for electricians and the like working on conduit all day, but I struggle to see why the average joe would want/need one. And that's coming from someone with a Milwaukee addiction - I'm up to like 25 tools
