I'm equally amazed that this really well done movie came from the person who made that trash. (Though, being fair, many had to green light TLJ along the way for it to happen, so plenty of blame to share.)

I kept subconsciously hoping this movie was just a dry run for Daniel Craig's Foghorn Leghorn reboot.

Not saying he did a bad job, it was just a wee bit over the top. But the whole movie had that tone, so it's fair.

Not unless 8k includes a killer feature like HDR or Dolby Atmos. Frankly I don't notice much difference in resolution between a well recorded Bluray and 4k UHD but definitely notice HDR and Lossless audio. Maybe when we all have 100" screens.

I doubt it. Most of the movies on 4K were shot on film or 2K digital video. Being in 4K really doesn't enhance much over regular blu-ray. The big draw for this format is the higher quality audio and HDR, but I have seen just as many discs with bad HDR as good on older movies so even that is a mixed bag. I have pretty much stopped buying discs anyway so I would rather wait till the UHD version is $5 or less on Vudu and be done with it. I seriously doubt these triple and quad layered discs last as long as the digital copies. I have already thrown away 50 DVDs, HD DVDs and Blu-rays that are 10+ years old that have rotted. It is a small percentage of what I have, but disc rot has woken me up to the benefits of just having everything digital. More convenient, looks and sounds good enough, and no discs to fail in a decade. Will Movies Anywhere being around in ten years? I'm betting there are better odds of that than the UHD discs working.

At least one of my old disks has stopped working but most have no issues and many are getting up there in age. That said, I appreciate digital codes for this very reason. It just sucks that special features generally aren't part of this.

Gotta check the deals every day. The digital version was just $5 on Amazon, about 2 or 3 days ago. It's not on sale anymore, but it goes on sale for $5, all the time.
