The phone itself is $100 cheaper, but it now requires first three months service charge at $60/month (one more month than before). Overall, it is $40 cheaper than the previous deal from last month.

Does anybody know how to unlock an eligible iphone on Cricket? The only info I can find on their site is they will send an unlock code - then what steps should be taken to complete the unlock?

Remember, only the store manager can offer discounts of one month plan, waive activation, and give one a big discount on a new phone.

Once you click unlock, you should get a text saying it's unlocked. You can restart the phone to see if it says no sim restrictions in the settings

Looks like it is not available for an existing Cricket customer. iPhone 11 might not support 5G. How can an existing cricket customer make use of this deal?

You can buy this as a new customer and porting in a new number. Once activated, you can merge your existing account into the new one. Once all lines in your old account shows up in the new account, just port out the new number to some other carrier (porting out is ideal as you don't have to deal with any human).

You will be left with the 2 months additional credit you paid as well Smilie

Brilliant, cricket shows no love to existing customers. This is a great work around.

And could you get a referral credit when opening the new line?

Yes, done this a couple times - last week being the latest. And you can get the referral credit too on the new account - because its a new account! A self referral will not work as your old account will be closed - so find someone and benefit mutually!

Incorrect. Cricket still has the $30. a month plan with 5GB. If you want more data (15GB) and hotspot, it's $10. add on which is reasonable. I'm done with TF, Red Pocket (worse than TF), and Mint which has been a real hit and miss with data.
