It's $2100 for this "TOASTER"?
ONLY GPU IS GOOD,the rest-GARBAGE.
You need to exchage the case and upgrade the cooling...Or it will be shutting down every 30 min.
Returned it...

this is still a good deal IMO. I doubt it will shut down every 30 mins for everyone.

The case is truly awful. Super hot and makes the single case fan run at max all the time. It's loud.

Anybody buying these should budget a decent case.

The 3080 in these may still be FHR and not LHR.

I'm curious.... how did it run with the side panel removed?

I never get why putting a ton of fans is better than just removing a side panel

I would guess that an open panel just f--ks with directional flow of what fans you do have, which is what you want for cooling. Buy some cheap fans and zip tie them in.in the front and top, out the back. The case and panel will make sure that pressure is distributed.

I had this pc last year when it was $1999. Case is definitely bad for airflow. Got rid of it shortly after getting it. I would hard pass on this if you wanted to use it for any serious gaming.

Fans within enclosed environments use air pressure to cycle (push or pull) air through the case. Depending on how effective the fan setup is and what you're cooling, having your components exposed to stagnant air not being circulated by fans could be worse. At the extreme, think about a hot item in a wind tunnel vs a hot item sitting in a room without airflow assisted by fans

I agree completely. BUT since the CPU & GPU both always have dedicated fans, how much worse is it really, to take the side off the box (in the event it has "hot-box" airflow issues)?

Bought one in Oct/Nov and ran fine with the side plate removed while just mining (low CPU load). Asus stock case and CPU fan are garbage. Put the parts in a high airflow case (Torrent) along with a CPU fan and all is now good. Basically budget the upgrades into the purchase consideration.

Honestly I built this but 2 2TB NVMEs, 1 2TB SSD and a 3080 ti with a much better case and fans AND a Core i9 12900 for $1400

Super cheap - plastic case customer BIOS and can't upgrade the bios on graphics card. Runs hot and needs additional fans and cooler to make usable. I purchased one and the red cpu light comes on often when playing games (that is the cpu overtime light on the motherboard).

The entire case is plastic with a very thin metal structure below it. The power key is very flimsy not he case.

Before you purchase know that if you have a warranty issue with the graphics card it is tethered with the rest of the computer and you will need to put everything back like it was when you purchased it in order to get a warranty repair on the graphics card. They don't like when you modify stuff to they will not honor the warranty.

So keep everything and take picture on how to put it back together for the next several years.

Be sure you go to the Asus website for this desktop and go o the support page - not unlike every other product there is no picture and the software has not been updated for over 6 months. Asus doesn't even treat this like a real product on their webpage.

I would avoid this unless you really want to rebuild a computer and cannot find anything else out there.

If you do purchase one there are a few posts that show how to make it useful by adding a couple fans and a new cpu cooler.
