This works great in the PS5. You can use this heatsink with it. For maximum storage use a portable external usb drive and move all ps4 games to it. Then set this drive just for PS5 games.

Proof that anything I buy drops in price the next day. $160 and $150 I paid during the last month for this item. Running in a RAID0 box for 14,000 Mbps reads.

Good deal. This would have been a decent price even for the regular 980.

Just an FYI, prices of these drives may go up due to this:

Scare tactic. Same with BB gouging even worse now.

that's irrelevant - wty is with Samsung and their posted policy is what matters when you RMA

edit: it's even in the from the Mfr section:
Quote :
* Limited warranty up to 5 years or up to the TBW for each capacity ***For more information on the warranty, please visit www.samsung.com/support

WD will eventually somehow sneak those chips into some "economy" white box retail/bulk or pc builders product without divulging the material is previously contaminated.

S their any advantage for a gamer to spend the extra $$$ on this, a 4.0 vice 3.0? My research has shown that there is little benefit ... perhaps a few seconds saved in load time.

If you're buying storage for a PS5 this is a far better deal and includes a heat sink. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093DP3..._lig_dp_it
