Eh, at this point why not pay a little more for 4k max fire stick? When those go on sale, about $35.

Although there are going to be power users who notice the difference in the CPU horsepower and potentially improved Wi-Fi connectivity, there's a huge swath of users for whom the use case is limited to everyday movie streaming from Prime which wouldn't justify any premium (even only a few bucks).

I'm just frustrated that Amazon has been leveraging the woot! channel to the exclusion of any $25 offer for the 4k model on Amazon directly. I've got a darned trade in credit I'm trying to maximize... and they know it. For me the key functionality I'm trying to get is the enhanced remote (with TV power control). Otherwise, I still daily drive a 4k pendant Fire TV which still meets my need for Prime, AppleTV+, and local streaming.

Good luck!
Jon

What about this?

Current model, should be $25 w/ promo code UP4KFTV, plus 20% trade-in. Plus get 10% back on your Amazon Prime credit card.

I got the one with no tv controls free with the Discovery Plus deal and no TV controls on the remote is more annoying than you'd think. I'd be better off trading it in for one with tv controls.

Yeah, I realized and fixed what I was saying that it would be better to buy through Amazon for trade in.

I would recommend to get Onn. Android 4K tv box for $20 from Walmart instead. It has more ram memory and better cpu for less money. Additionally it's pure android tv experience, no Amazon bloatware. I got them both to compare and ended up keeping Onn.

I'd tried earlier on with that promo. Though the Amazon Prime credit card offer does seem to apply regardless (at least the bonus reward remains called out when the Amazon Prime card is selected for payment), I can't seem to get the 20% and successfully apply UP4KFTV.

Good luck!

Bummer. While I did apply a trade-in credit once on a tablet, I don't remember how it's done. If the credit is applied via a promo code, I can see why, as Amazon only allows one code per order. I guess you have no option but to maximize your credit on the Fire TV Cube which has no current promo code but gets 25% back using the card. Wink

Rather than being a standalone credit or promo code, the current Fire TV discount basically just sits tied to the account and is applied by default when any Fire TV device is added to the cart. I seem to recall with another promo code recently I was able to remove the trade-in discount (unchecking the box) and then apply the promo code (proving to myself that the code was valid but simply wouldn't stack with the trade-in discount).

Using the doubled discounts on a $69.99 Fire TV cube would bring the cube into a competitive price position. At $45 (after 20% trade-in discount and 25% cash back) I'd say that would correctly put the slightly higher horsepower cube just above the Max. Personally, my preference was to replace my pendant for a Fire TV stick to reduce the footprint of the device and gain access to the new remote format - so maximizing CPU/dollar wasn't really my goal. However, that'd be a great price for someone looking for the highest-performing Amazon Fire TV device.

Good luck!
Jon
