I wrote up a comparison between the asus zephrus, alienware and the legion 5 pro in the zephrus sale thread. (Sourced from several good review sites):

The big problem with the zephrus and the alienware is their slimmer, lest robust chasis is bad thermals *AVERAGING* 97 or 100C in demanding games and hitting thermal limit/throttling, at least with cpu boost clocks on.

Also FYI - If you have a AMEX you might have the $120 back if you spend $600

Good deal but the thermals make it a nonstarter for me. Thumbs up for the deal though.

How can they keep selling these? I'm still on a waiting list for the m15 r4 and they are citing delayed parts availability

Too bad the Dell Financial discount can't work with split payments. And when you bought something from Dell, you'll never been target again with that elusive offer from amex

Correction: Dell Financial doesn't work with Dell rewards applied and split payment with credit card.

"You cannot use rewards in conjunction with Dell Preferred Account if you have split your payment. To use your rewards and Dell Preferred Account, please remove any gift card or credit cards."

m15 r4 is previous previous gen they need to open a custom order to produce it in batch and/or may be delayed by current container offload issues. m15 r5/r6 are previous gen which they have large quantity in us warehouse and ready to ship next day.

I have/had both 3, my opinion is Lenovo is smart on choose a great thermal paste greatly reduced the heat and gained reputation for "Good" thermal management, I have another thread write in details about repaste Dell G15 with same Lenovo's Honeywell 7950 thermal paste/pad and have a lot better thermal performance on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLa...950_phase/ and comparision with those two here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLa...ng_laptop/

Asus and Msi choose liquid metal for short solution on one time, but thermal paste need maintenance anytime you open the heatsink, so liquid metal isn't the best solution for long run to customer.
So I'd say Dell/Alienware need to use some quality thermal paste instead of reinvent 4 or even 6 fans but fail to identify the bottleneck is it's bad thermal paste.

Their chassis (alienware and asus') is also thinner and less weight. They are catering to those slim specs instead of having a slightly thicker chassis and better heat pipes, better air channels and vent design (legion 5 pro).

Literally none of this is true.

I just did 3 different payment methods on the m15 r4 (DPA and 2x credit cards).

AND I have a 10% offer back at Dell on my same amex business plat that I spend $200 on every year at Dell.

What are they thinking? It takes me back to the days of Fermi...I will never SLI ever again.

Bought the Intel one for 1690$, and received it in 4 days. Pretty solid laptop. Played horizontal car racing game for almost an hour, the panel still cool. And the fans noise quieter than I expected. I guess this Ryzen will do the same
