why would you carry such a big weight over something you have zero proof of... water system contamination is rare, tested, and notices are sent out. I've never had one my entire life. Dogs and cats drink much worse when they're outside.
anyways, I did buy this last time, and never ended up getting around to using it, and also don't have any faucets low enough to the ground for them anyways lol
Dogs don't have the same digestive system as humans. They have a much more acidic stomach. It's much less common for them to get e. coli or salmonella poisoning because of this, as they evolved to eat a diet almost entirely of raw animals, including that animals digestive contents.

One of the biggest regrets of my life is feeding my dogs that have passed away water directly from the tap. I wish I would've known to give them filtered or spring water. Dogs always seem to develop some sorta cancer and it seems like that may have contributed, who knows
OK , then why is it ok for humans? Dont get me wrong, I feed my dogs what I eat (as well as a cup of kibble or so per day), and I have my own well where I pump my own water. I just am interested in what you call tap water and why it is no good for dogs.. Most of the Suburbs of MPLS pump their own water. the core areas of the metro pull water from the Mississippi 70 miles north of MPLS. I guess it comes down to where you get your water and how it was treated.
This looks neat if you could train your dog to use it. My dogs are always knocking their bowls over, the numb skulls are always making a mess. They always seem to be thirsty when ever I come home, and I hate the thought they were thirsty for any length of time.. Then again my dogs are indoor dogs, so I guess it is not for me because they are never outside for more than it takes for them to do the do-do that they do do.

Dogs eat poop, it seems that tap water probably wouldn't hurt them.
My lab and rottie/shepard mix both lived to be 14yo drinking tap water.

Cool find, thanks! For $6, definitely worth a try, even if only lasts a season or two. I would definitely be willing to pay someone $6 to keep my dog's water bowl filled all summer.
Fairly regularly we get notices from the town to not consume the water straight from the tap because of ecoli or other contamination. What I was trying to say was that if I adopted another dog I would give it fresh spring or filtered water instead of straight from the tap. That is my own opinion and never once in my comment did it say that others should follow suit. I love how slickdealers spend time out of their day just to be combative and argue for no plausible reason.

Yea, maybe if you lived in Detroit you should have done that.

no...
it's the inbreeding process that causes cancer in all animals. we humans have destroyed just about every domesticated/farmed animal.
on the product...
this is a horrible product, just use bowls and clean them regularly. if you're dog is outside by himself long enough you think this is necessary, then you shouldn't have the dog.
Maybe I have a dog for one of the hundreds of reasons dogs were domesticated in the first place. I am not advocating mistreating pets but keeping dogs in the backyard is not mistreating them. I have a dog, not the child replacement that has become known as a furbaby.

These are awesome. I got an adapter for my bathtub and taught my dogs to drink from it. They go upstairs when they want water. No bowls in the house to refill.
