999999 pictures, really? I counted a total of four pictures of broken ones posted by two reviewers. Only three out of 694 reviews/ratings mentioned the word shattered. Maybe those reviewers received damaged or defective ones. Tempered glass that has been scratched is prone to shattering.
Had one of these in the past--the two cup version, specifically.
The Anchor pouring lip is terrible. It feels like someone switched your measuring cup with a novelty dribbling glass. I finally chucked it when I saw a comparably-sized Pyrex measuring cup for under ten dollars.
Spend the extra five bucks, get something that pours properly. Nothing worse than measuring a precise amount of melted butter / cream / stock and then watching half of it slide down the side of the glass.

I was interested in this until I went to the Amazon page and saw like 999999 pictures of the glass shattered into pieces all over the place.

I own this. It does NOT pour correctly. It runs all down the side of the cup no matter the angle, speed of pour, etc.
.
All of the glass ones seem to be hit and miss. Buy a few and return the ones that don't pour correctly. The plastic ones seem to be more consistent.

You can melt Pyrex (nonex) in a microwave if you leave it in there long enough. But before it completely melts, it will shatter. If you overheat Pyrex in a microwave or otherwise that takes quite a bit, it could later shatter. If you chip it, it could later shatter.

Is there a good reason to have a 1 cup glass measuring cup? I have metal and plastic 1 cups. I broke it last time. My 2 cup seems not to break and I like that size. I think I had a 4 cup once and that broke... Can't remember though. mmmm.
.
Good timing.... the 2 and 4 cup are also on sale. The markings do not last as long as years ago, but for this price, they are affordable to replace.
I canʻt seem to find the 4-cup for less than $20. Any chance you could post the link? Iʻm usually pretty adept at finding things so I assume Iʻm staring right at it and not recognizing it...
I learned that with both Anchor and Pyrex it's worth buying used ones that were made decades ago. I see them quite often in thrift stores. It's really worth taking the time to find those because the quality is so much better and they last a very long time.
The first and last Anchor Hocking I bought runs down the side when pouring and the markings washed off after a few months. So now it's not a measuring cup but just a cup that doesn't pour well. Went back to Pyrex for a few bucks more.
