this exact chainsaw kit launched at $450 MSRP in late 2018/early 2019. It's still $450 now. An equally stupid statement to make would be to say that inflation actually doesn't exist because some chainsaw kit by Milwaukee has gone up $0 over the course of 3 years.

https://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-m1...uiet-good/

And if anything ever had a truly substantial effect on final MSRP pricing it was from TTI bracing for the 25%-30% import tariff on power tools. But we don't talk about tariffs anymore, I wonder why? (this discussion gets even more funny when people who like to pretend to be vehemently anti-China have 0 issues piling up on Milwaukee products which are overall more reliant on China than either Dewalt or Makita are)

Instead of a hack, can the chainsaw be exchanged for a different tool or store credit? Has anyone ever tried that?

Was hoping this was hackable. Hard to find deals on M18 HO batteries now-a-days.

This is most likely sold as a whole kit in one box.

They aren't interchangeable. If you might need to do a few cuts, the electric is great. If you are going out to do some serious cutting then you gotta go gas.

Has anyone used the chainsaw with 5.0 or 6.0 batteries? I have some of those so would sell the 12.0 battery and blower if it runs decent with smaller batteries.

Bought this set a couple of years ago, for $400 I think. The chainsaw served us very well after a couple of hurricanes.

Chainsaw really needs the 12.0 for any real cutting, I tried to use a 5.0 with it and after a couple cuts the battery kept overheating, there's a reason they sell them only with the 12.0 battery
