2x4 in one go - need 12"??? Did you ever use a circular saw? Any 7 1/4" cuts 2x4 at 45 degree angle. Do you also know what sliding saw is, and this one is sliding?

Just used the saw today to cut a 4x4 post for those curious. Not a big fan of the saw; too much play/slop for the sliding mechanism and the stop detents are plastic.
It's fine for construction and some trim but not confidence inspiring for furniture.
Should have HPT in title. I guess the parent company can do what they like with their name, but this stuff is garbage compared to Metabo tools. At least for now.

I'm not certain what your issue is with this saw. I am a contractor, I run this saw all day with 2 fully charged 5ah batteries. If I need it longer, I have the plug in attachment. It's deff not a finish carpentry saw but for framing, fascia, baseboards and door casing its unbeatable, especially at this price. I would guess you have no experience with this tool.

5ah batteries or the 4ah...? I didn't know they made a 5ah, I just got 2 of the 36v 4ah batts. Thoughts on why not really suitable for finish work? Any of those negative things adjustable that would make it better?
