You know what? This is a good deal. 1650 Super is a good card for 1080p gaming, and if you need more oomph you're looking in the wrong place anyway

Not a good deal. It's a 10700! Spring cleaning Dell?

^Even this wasn't a great deal, but respectable at least. It should be obvious that Dell hardware is proprietary, and let's not mention how shockingly abysmal Dell customer service is. I had to correct a shipping address from that deal (also a billing discrepancy due to sales tax). Exactly 24 phone calls over 4 days later, I gave up because I was accused of being a reseller, bluntly accused of fraud, and hung up on for the umpteenth time.

Just an address change folks...
Well it is older chip but it's replacements are only 5-10% faster. I would say the graphics card is the bigger issue. Should be at least a 1660 Super.

bought this same model about a week ago. Got $120 back from AMEX.
for some reason, the SD Cashback didn't register but that's another fight.

on the inside, there are only two open expansion slots, two RAM sticks, and only enough power ports to add two internal devices.

perfect desktop for my needs. I don't game.

*IF* you can get the Amex $120 back and current 8-10% portal cashback then I think this is a good deal. That would get the price down around $500. It would be a stretch to buy the parts here for that much even if you could get an Nvidia card at normal retail. Specs are all OK for a basic gaming system.

Not enough of an upgrade over my Haswell i5 and GTX 1060 6GB, right?

I was wondering if having an 8gb stick and a 4gb stick of RAM was a good thing. I thought that for dual channel memory it was advised to have two matching sticks, such as 2 x 8gb. I'm not very computer savvy so any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

only 2 RAM slots? I wonder why it is a weird 8+4 GB instead of 8+8 GB.

I bought an 8940 last year and it is much the same. I recently did the deal for the two WD Gold 16TB drives and popped them in there. I was going to upgrade the NVME at the same time but could not figure out how to get to it without taking the entire case apart. It is not on the motherboard as I expected but in some proprietary enclosure at the top of the case. I decided to leave it be.

I built my last computer and the motherboard finally died after eight years. I did not feel like doing that this time. This PC should be fine for a while but might go back to self build in the future for some more flexibility.

Many users will never upgrade parts. They buy a system based on the sticker specs and stay with that. With this configuration, Dell beats out competitors' 8GB models while also dumping nearly worthless 4GB RAM sticks.
