This forged set is a great value with German steel at HRC 56. The quality is similar to Mercer Genesis or Renaissance line which sells at $35 for one chefs knife. Around 2015, Tramontina introduced 2 forged lines, Century and ProChef, which gained great recognition world wide. Both lines use exactly the same steel with the only difference on the handles. For whatever reason I don't know, the word 'Century' and 'ProChef' are stamped on knives sold in other countries but not in US. Not sure if that is the reason why these 2 lines are more popular in other countries than in US.
The lowest price for this 6pc set was around $28 during last Thanksgiving. I bought it at $29.58 last Christmas. After receiving it in a couple of days and really liked it, I posted the deal on SD when the price was still $29.62. I just bought another set as a gift for $29.18 last night before SD post. Although the price around $29 would only last for a few hours, price range $31-$32 usually lasts for several days at a time.
Since Amazon uses an algorithm to automatically increase the price based on sale volume, you may need to save the item in your shopping list and monitor the price yourself. Once it is posted on SD, the deal would only last for a few short hours.

Anyone who missed I would advise you ask some wise camels to let you know when the price goes down. That's what I did. I had an alert setup with them. When I got the email I bought it and posted it here.
