Costco only price matches their own prices.
From their website:
"Please rest assured that your satisfaction is our top priority—that's why we're always working to bring you brand-name items at the lowest possible prices. However, because we already offer competitive prices at the point of purchase, we do not pricematch with other retailers."

So, because of this, if you want the lower price you'll have to wait and see if Costco reduces their price or return it and buy from Best Buy.

Are there any deals for a current M1 MacBook with 32gb ram? 14" or 16" doesn't matter to me. I understand most users are fine with 16gb, but as a musician who uses large sample libraries 32gb or Ram would be preferred, but it's so hard to find dealers outside of Apple even offering a model with 32gb ram.

Look up some youtube videos for ram comparison between 16 and 32gb. Since the SSD is so fast, the ram caches to the SSD when it runs out of space. There is little to no difference between the 16 and 32gb performance wise.

If you don't mind used, I'd keep an eye out on their refurbished site as well as some second hand marketplaces

The M1 Pro chip is a game changer. This laptop is phenomenal and better than any PC laptop I have ever owned. And all my PC laptops are high-end developer laptops.

A premium product commands a premium price tag. Mercedes, Rolex, Gucci, Lexus, etc. Can't compare those to Chevy, Timex, Toyota, etc.

I think box stores only have "stock" models. But B&H Photo has them. Use their in-house credit card to save on sales tax -- they credit back the sales tax you pay. (Pay off the balance ASAP though. Interest is some brutal amount). On a $2900 purchase that could save you a $100-200 depending on the tax rate in your area. It's not much, but it's something.
