What is the typical price seen on these? Looking at buying this as a gift, but I am not sure how much the savings would be and how good of a deal this really is.

If you bought me one of these as a gift, and got down on one knee, I would say "Yesss!!"

I bought this in December 2020 and it's been in my pocket ever since. All of my other EDC's (mostly kershaws) have been unintentionally retired.

If I lost it tomorrow, I'd be tempted to buy it at full price. In fact, I'm tempted to buy a spare Smilie

I'm looking at the black version for $159 but don't need another knife. Can someone give me a reason not to buy this?

This is overpriced and NOT a good deal. Just let things settle with supply chains and it will drop again. You should be shooting for the $130 mark.

Having about 2 dozen knives of varying price I now carry a small retracting and easily replaceable razor blade/box cutter and a multi tool: skeletool at work and Gerber Center Drive on the weekends. I've bought expensive knives but I'm afraid to use them, ruin or lose them. Just my 2 cents

Man I bought the black blade version at the last sale and lost it a few weeks ago. I loved that knife and am strongly considering double dipping…
Nice knives tend to get "lost" more often sadly

Larrinite/Magnacut is really interesting, stainless with better corrosion resistance than 20CV and can be heat-treated to RC of 62 to64+ which is crazy
As with the newest and flashy super steels be prepared to put your kidney as a down payment on the knife when it comes out

Because $150 for a pocket knife is farking insane?
Well, I think go to a restaurant for a dinner for $150 is a lot more insane.

I agree with you completely. I'm sure this is a magnificent knife, but I know I would be hesitant to use it at times due to how much I spent on it. My current EDC budget knife is the Kershaw Oso Sweet. To me it does everything I want and if I break it or lose it, it's only about $25 to replace so I am not hesitant to use it at all. Not trying to bash on this deal. I know Benchmade is a premium brand. I am mostly afraid if I bought one I would be turned off to my beater knives.

Great knife but way over price for what you are getting. I feel there's way better options out there.

Name them and I will tear them apart in a comparison to this Bugout.

I would wait for the Deka if you don't need a knife now but that's just my preference. It's fun to try Magnacut since it's new and I love the Deka even more then the bugout. Just my personal preference.

Bought a version with black coated s30v and red accents a while back. Got some aftermarket carbon fiber scales for it. Think I have around $200 into it all together. It is a sweet knife for edc. I think Benchmade hit a sweet spot between size, weight, price with this one. Btw, if you get the carbon version from Benchmade it's around $300. I agree, knives can be expensive, but at least I don't collect guns or watches.
