Does it spread butter? I'm looking for recommendations, mostly will be using it for prepping jelly sandwiches and such.
Cut a slice of pizza in half today. Always a crowd pleaser.

Trying to figure out what is better...this one or the Spyderco paramilitary 2?

Also possibly in the market for the tactical triage.

I don't understand why people spend money on good quality things and afraid to use them? I have this knife in carbon fiber and I use it around the house cutting cardboard and stuffs. It's super light and solid. I also have a $3k Martin guitar that I'm not afraid to play and scratch it because it "is" a musical instrument meant to be played on and enjoyed instead of kept in a case. Do people also afraid to hold their $1,000+ iphone and use it on a daily basis too? I dropped my phone so many more times that I can count although I have a slim protective case and tempered glass protector on. This is a high quality functional knife folks, not a one of a kind heirloom from your great great grandfather. Use it and love using it!

I'd rather pay about $50 less for the mini griptilian [mkeblades.com] with the sheepsfoot and spydie hole.

I own 2 of these 20CV bugouts now and am seriously thinking of buying 1 or 2 more either to keep or give away to my boys... Too fun to customize. It's a sickness... For me the bugout is much easier to open than spydie flicking. I hate that grating on my fingernails with a PM2. And the axis lock is a dream to close on the bugout. So for fidgeting and just ease of use I give bugout the win. If you are looking for a knife to beat the heck out of and put it through much more agressive cutting then the PM2 is better. The bugout is a heck of a knife, especially if you replace the scales with titanium or other aftermarket ones, but the blade is bit less beefy than the PM2. So if I was a warehouse worker or electrician and going to beat on it... I would go PM2. If I was every day kind of worker with lighter uses or an office worker or taking it in your backpack camping or just a weirdo knife addict like me then it is bugout all the way. Plus the bugout looks much better. Just get this one with the 20CV steel and then replace the gross green BladeHQ hardware pieces and get some flytanium crossfade aftermarket scales or RIT dye these gray ones. One of my boys came over last night and I had just put the new flytanium scales on one and he said that is now his new favorite knife of all I own... and I have way too many ranging in price from $100 to $1,500. Hmmm.... maybe I should buy 3 more...

Tempted, recently started collecting pocket knives with a variety under $100:

Opinel 8
Ka-Bar Dozier
CRKT Pilar
Kershaw Leek
Ontario Rat 2
Civivi Elementum
Buck 110
Spyderco Dragonfly

Was looking at the Spyderco Manix or Stretch K390 for over $100. Also, had the Bugout 535 on my radar. The unhealthy level of research continues…

This is a great knife and my EDC.
The G10 scales are nice and rigid, unlike the standard FRN scales.
I did also buy the CF Elite model, which is lighter than this knife and also has very rigid scales due to the carbon-fiber reinforcement.
I carry this knife when wearing heavier pants and the lightweight CF Elite model when wearing shorts/lightweight pants.

I think the PM3 Lightweight is a better comparison to the Bugout as far as size and weight. The PM2 is a bigger, heavier knife than either the bugout or pm3.

I have carried a Leatherman Charge TTI with me for years and 90% of the time, I only use the knife. Decided to give something new a try because the damn Leatherman kept pulling my pants down. The bugout is stupidly light and I don't ever remember I have it on me until I need a knife, and it's there.

Imo, the PM3 lightweight or Bugout will both serve you well. It just depends on which you personally connect with better. If you're not against chinese made junk, you can get a clone of each one that closely represents the real thing, and then decide which you like better. The clones are available for $20-$30 on various websites.

I was like you 12 months ago. I had and still have much of that same list. For the longest time I thought I was a Spyderco guy. I still own 5 or 6 of them. I wish I had never bought any of them now. I feel like I flushed that money down the drain. These are the three knives I love: Benchmade bugout, Benchmade mini crooked river, Oz Roosevelt. Two honorable mentions I probably can't part with are my Reate Tribute and Pena X-series Large Apache. The rest of my 20+ collection is going to be sold. The bugout though is so nice because 1) its a great knife, and 2) so many aftermarket parts to customize it with. If I had to pick just one knife to own and have fun playing with and changing with aftermarket parts to make it your own... the bugout. Just don't buy a fake benchmade on the Bay. I look at them all the time on there and over half are total fakes. I would only buy benchmade from a reputable retailer or benchmade itself. Welcome to the knife buying rabbit hole, my friend!

I'm looking at the black version for $159 but don't need another knife. Can someone give me a reason not to buy this?

Since I lost yet another knife again even though I thought I was being very careful, no way I'ma buy knives this expensive.
Your knife was able to make it to the underground railroad and it's living a happy life on the island of lost socks, sunglasses, pens and USB drives.
