I know people this is true for but not everyone. I find this is mostly true for people who don't or can't learn to maintain and fix their own boats.
Well, you know what they say about the two happiest days in a man's life…
FYI if you're towing this from cleats you'll want a booster ball to keep the line out of the water and your passengers from nose diving. If you have a tow bar/power tower you probably won't need it

Anyone own this? I read a lot of complaints about the arm bladders not retaining air. This is a great price.

Agree. Even with a tow bar, a similar model of this nosedived when in the passengers are in the kneeling position. There's too much weight in front to keep it from nosediving. Our kids won't get on one of these again because of how scared they were when in nosedived. Sitting position though, you won't need the booster ball.

Bought this exact one from Costco a few years ago, very happy with it. We've used it a lot with kids and adults. This is an extremely good price! For reference, last year's HO 3 person towable was $199 in warehouse

I bought one last year but didn't even open it yet. Hopefully this year I'll use it

This is true! Besides gas and insurance I spend very little on mine because I actually maintain it!
