1920x1200 for a 10.1" display is pretty high res. I do like the concept a lot and I can see having to pay more to have something that can fold up into a small, portable unit that you can take with you and power through a single port on a computer. Definitely makes more sense compared to lugging around 3 laptops with chargers and trying to get some software to make two act as monitor extensions instead of just trying to control 3 separate laptops.

It's interesting cause in a laptop form factor you are getting this for the portability and if I were working at home on my desk I wouldn't want a 10.1" screen but if I'm flying around and constantly traveling I don't think I'd want to carry around an extra 2 x 15" screens either. And when you're in an airport having two smaller 10.1" screens may be absolutely worth it, especially if they are portable and easy to carry.

So 2 modest resolution 10.1" displays connected via USB for $279.99?

I dunno. That's like having 2 netbooks side by side to your laptop and although that has some utility, a 10.1" display isn't exactly ideal. If these were 14" for $400, I could see going for it, but at 10.1" the added screen real estate is a little squinty for me.

I have a version of this product from another company — 12.5 inch @ 1080 — and I love it when it works. The main point of failure is the adhesive that holds the magnets in place. That includes the magnets you place on your laptop and the magnets on the monitor/device itself. They seem to give out collectively (as a set) so when one goes, I start carrying super glue with me to be ready for the other ones to go.

I have a coworking space in my building but don't have a dedicated desk. After some research, this was the best option for a portable multiple monitor setup. I keep everything on one of those 3 tiered Ikea kitchen carts and just roll my setup to a new desk each morning.

Every time I see something like this I always think about how Razer got their prototype laptop stolen with a similar sliding screen setup.

This seems good though for an integrated option, personally I have two external USB-C displays but you need ample desk space to have those propped up with their folding stand, that or get yourself some tablet holders that have a smaller footprint.

I don't have one of these -- but what I do have are some older Lenovo 1366x768 TN USB 2.0 panels that had the viewing angle of like 5 degrees and a refresh rate of "next slide please".

I also looked at several Asus, Acer, etc USB-C panels. They're higher quality IPS, but they also have several pain points. Mostly, the price is around $200 (best buy had a sale once for a few hours for $100 a panel, but been waiting a few years for that to never come back). They also typically have horrible kickstands/angle adjustment. Also, they're all 16:9 resolution. Once you get use to 16:10, it's painful to switch back.

These seem REALLY compelling, and I'm strongly considering pulling the trigger. They're smaller panels @ 10.1", but they're damn high resolution at 1920x1200. And since they're IPS, they'll have excellent viewing angles. I'm mildly concerned about the brightness, but for secondary tasks like email or reference docs, who cares?

And the mounting system keeps it off the table -- much better & more natural positioning, especially if you use the laptop on a riser stand with a BT/USB keyboard/trackpad/mouse.

I had the same concerns about magnets when i was first looking at this type of product. I went with the Xebec because it doesnt use magnets at all (it goes over the main laptop screen in a clamshell kind of design). I love the Xebec

This would be a pretty solid deal if not refurbished. Refurbished from some companies can be like basically new, in other companies just pass minimum functional standards. Really debating this one.

I'd be tempted, but refurbished, for me, kills the deal. Who knows what you're getting, and how hard a return will be.

The use-case shown is a little wonky, but I have a 10.1" screen that I stick below my 38" Dell Ultra-wide. My Dell has VNC or CAD running, and I use the 10.1" screen for IMs (Microsoft Teams and MacOS Messages). Having a separate "space" for them really helps. My laptop is off to the side with Outlook.

I could definitely imagine a use for a second small screen as well. But again, I'm not taking a risk on a refurbished XEBEC brand...

I bought one. This was refurbished by Xebec (The brand) and looked brand new. Came with a Xebec warranty.

Most I'd give is $200. What's the regular price on this anyways?

I work in a shared workspace when i go into the office and i travel for work a good bit. At home i have duel monitors and i'm very used to having those multiple screens. The clamshell style design of this Xebec is super easy to use (and to take on and off as i head to a flight etc.). there are video's on Xebec's website which show how it works. I know the screens may seem small at 10.1" however they are more than adequate to have email etc. on one screen and web pages on another. I will typically have an excel spreadsheet etc. which i am working on, on my main laptop screen. Works fantastic for my needs. Just really happy with it. Hope that helps. Summary: convenient design, good resolution on the screens and meets my multitasking needs.

The new generation for this sells for $499. There are single screen solutions which retail for $200-$300 which will give you a dual solution. I love the tri-screen solution and found this to be the best deal by far in the space when you look at the top brands in this sub-category (Xebec, SideTrax and Mobile Pixel). If anyone can find a better deal for this same convenient solution, definitely post however this one really is worth the money in my opinion.
