Inflation went insane.
GLOSTAD love seat was $119 last year when it first came out.

Thanks for your comment. Recently I was shopping for a bed frame and was shocked at the high prices. Not only that, but when I was shopping, IKEA did not have a single king-sized bed frame in stock at my local store! I ended up buying a cheapie bedframe from Walmart and will switch it out later.

You can thank the Federal Reserve (who printed 40% of the USD's money supply in the last year) and the US Govt for sending stimulus checks directly to the public.
Yeah.. more like 80% of the total M1 supply was printed since March 2020/COVID

Don't get you economic news from a troll on slickdeals.

Inflation is a global problem right now. Not just a US problem.

I won't buy it if it isn't in my local store. Took months just to get some plates. I had totally forgotten about them when I got the shipping notice.

I agree with you. I think the example deals I posted are all available for pickup at my local IKEA (of course YMMV).

I love the Project 62 line at Target. Their Patio stuff has been amazing too. I got the Opalhouse egg chair on sale for $300 at the end of summer in 2020, and I have only seen eggchairs raise in price. Like 600-700 now

For ikea at least, the problem seems self inflicted. Ever since the pandemic began, they are having severe supply chain issues. Some of their most popular items like the ubiquitous Billy bookcase isn't in stock many days. I think they finally raised prices to acknowledge their supply shortages.

If you look at wayfair or other furniture places, the effect is not as severe.

Yes. Europe is the same mess. You can see the frustration on the Reddit Ikea boards. They raised their prices last fall so many people had a bad Christmas because of it. So many were angry at the huge 30%+ increases. We are just now seeing the increases this year.

The Chinese work very hard to produce products with real value. And we "never give (China) me your money You only give me your funny paper". Someday I reckon the negotiations will break down.

If the people are going to be on the hook for the debt that comes with issuing their own dollars, they might as well get first crack at using the money before inflation eats away at it.

Are you one of those "do your own research" types? Check these links less was printed than last year, it is declassified!
