I once had it run my cable modem when I lost power (only that) for about 4 hrs while I was on a laptop...
depending upon how want devices and their total wattage draw is what determines how long it will stay on. typically if you are drawing 1/2 of the maximum watts that the unit can handle is what is normally stated in the specs. so, if you just have a low wattage modem and router plugge into it then it might stay on for a couple of hours vs. if you have high end gaming system that is very high wattage (high end graphics card) then it might only stay on for a few minutes, just enough time to safely shut down by means of the software or manually.
never plug a laser printer or heater et. al. into a UPS else you are just asking for trouble... fire!

Product like this is NOT designed to LAST or to be USED without power. it's designed to kick in when power is lost (I own this one for 5+ years) to allow a safe shutdown of computers (to be able to save work) etc...
