Originally, it didn't fully support 4k 120 hz with chroma 4:4:4

It looks like they took the feedback and created beta firmware for people to test. Now they have an official firmware update to release over the next few weeks. More details here -

In other words, a good time to get this TV!
EDIT: If you do decide to use it at 4k 120hz (before the firmware update is released) with HDR on with your laptop/desktop 3000 series that supports HDMI 2.1, and you experience audio issues/crackling - review this. While its related to the U8G, this basically applies to the U7G as well. https://old.reddit.com/r/Hisense/...ken_audio/
"Right-click speaker icon in tray -> Sounds -> Playback - Make sure sure the TV is set to the default device and then opening its properties. Under the Advanced tab change the default format to 16 bit, 44100 HZ (CD Quality). This completely resolved my issue."
Someone else mentions "24 bit 48000 Hz is working with my U8G for both my 3080 ti and 3060 ti rigs now"

Android is glitchy, disabling a bunch of unneeded apps improved stability significantly.
Has some red ghosting on RDR2, but all my other games on PS4 Pro and PS5 look great. Might be specific to RDR2.
Has annoying yellow LED when mic is disabled, but it goes off after a day or so. Weird.

a) the TV picture quality is bad?
b) Do I need to recalibrate?
c) Is it possible I got a lemon?
Can anyone else comment on the picture quality? Thank you so much.
As you noted above, the NANO85 is 1 point lower on rtings.com, overall, than the U7G.
Mixed Usage Score:
7.1 for the NNANO85 (2021).
8.1 for the U7G
For movies (Std. and HDR), the difference is even bigger - 1.9 to 2 points:
Movies:
6.4 for the NANO85
8.3 for the U7G
HDR Movies:
6.2 for the NANO85
8.2 for the U7G
HDR Gaming:
7.4 for the NANO85.
8.3 for the U7G
'PC Monitor' is the ONLY rating category on rtings.com where the NANO85 has a better score 8.3 vs. 7.4 for the U7G

So far so good, very happy!
1) My soundbar is not recognized (connected to the TV via the optical audio port)?
When I go to audio output, all the options are greyed out (except TV speaker - current setting).
Any ideas?
2) Does anyone know of a thread / site with the optimal / recommended values for the (advanced) video (and audio) settings for the Hisense series?
Out of the box it looks nice, but I am sure there may be some video changes recommended.
3) I believe there is a beta firmware for some issue (maybe VRR, forgot what I read a few days ago), but may hold off since I do not have a PS5 or Xbox Series S/X.
4) I have a Roku Ultra. Debating whether for Netflix / Plex TV etc. the TV is fine or the Ultra would perform better.
I will do some comparisons, but figured I would ask to get thoughts.
