Manual or auto?
This has to be the 4 speed auto in the 07-11. The manual transmissions in the jk aren't awful and the nag1 in the 12-18 are actually quite strong.
Either that or you put large tires on a stock drivetrain…

The ZF 8 speed auto in the JL and JT is a bulletproof transmission.

After waving my XJ off to the junkyard this hits too close.
I owned both jk and jl, huge upgrade. Jk drives and behaves like my dad's old ford explorer, jl drives like my gf's crv.
You can easily find low mileage rubicon take offs for under 1000 with tpms with tires. This is post is not a deal.
My JL's 6 speed has an aisin transmission.
