Hackable to $403 with the free tool included. Best deal I had seen for impact / ratchet that wasn't the non-fuel version

This kit minus Ratchet comes at $253 after hack:

Extra $150 for the Fuel ratchet isn't actually a deal.

Yeah, $253 is obviously a better deal if all you really want is the drill, driver & wrench, plus accessories. And most folks who get ratchets prefer the non-Fuel one, which you can get for $61 hacking the base combo kit and canceling the combo kit. If you really want the Fuel ratchet I'm guessing there are deals on that too that drop it below $150.

...Actually, just found one, my thread in fact. A bit old but still active:

Gets it down to around $125. So, $378 for drill, driver, wrench & Fuel ratchet + accessories, $25 cheaper than this deal.

And most folks who get ratchets prefer the non-Fuel one, which you can get for $90 hacking the base combo kit and canceling the combo kit. If you really want the Fuel ratchet I'm guessing there are deals on that too that drop it below $150.

Why do people prefer the non-fuel version of the ratchet? Slimmer profile?

I asked the same question recently. Basically, yes, slimmer profile, and cheaper. For what most people use a cordless ratchet for, its being brushed and not especially powerful isn't a big deal especially compared to its being able to fit in more places. That sold me, plus the price. There was a recent deal where you got the drill, driver, ratchet, 2&4Ah batteries, charger & case, for $199, making the ratchet $60 more than the hacked deal w/o it. I'd probably never spend double that for a Fuel version as I don't see this as a critical tool for my needs, but for $60 it seemed worth a try. TBH while the unit feels solid, the ratcheting mechanism seems, feels and sounds a bit on the cheap end. But, again, $60, 5 year warranty, so WTH. I've had enough situations where this could have come in handy.

Good to know, thanks! I might keep an eye out
