I have eaten these nearly every day for the last 1-2 years. They are a healthier alternative to regular pancakes and taste good (optional: add a pinch of cinnamon if you want). Obviously dousing these with Syrup or using a lot of butter will not make these "healthy." So for those more health conscious, I would recommend eating these with a small amount of syrup, sugar free syrup, or PB fit peanut butter that is a bit runny.

Ideal cooking instructions for me is 1.7g water : 1g pancake mix. This comes out to about 3oz of water to 1/2 cup mix. The instructions on the box have it at 1 cup water to 1 cup mix which is 240g water to 106g mix which will make these WAY too thin.

1. Add water to dry mix. Limit mixing to preserve CO2/promote rising
2. Let sit for 5 minutes. Preheat pan on medium
3. Add tsp of butter to the pan.
4. Add batter to pan. Let it sit for ~5 minutes. You should see the batter bubble slowly as CO2 escapes. (It should barely sizzle. If it sizzles a lot or if you smell butter burning, turn down the heat).
5. Once the top no longer looks wet (it should look dry), flip it
6. Let sit for 5 more minutes. Rotating it in the pan every couple minutes.
7. Turn off heat and flip again to reheat the other side and let it sit for 1-2 minutes.

The result should be a fluffy-ish pancake that is crisp on the exterior but slightly cakey in the interior. It shouldn't be that dry unless that is your preference.

To clarify this is but one get one free - correct? At least this is what my coupon stated. So basically not free - more like half price.

EDIT: The printed coupon does say get one free. The electronic coupon sent to my phone says BOGO

I tried Walmart self checkout. The coupon scanned but the coupon amount was $0.00. So no discount with scanning by myself. The cashier would not override it. Hope others have better luck.

The cashier would not take them because they appeared to have been copied????
correct, stores around here only take the internet coupons that have unique serial numbers, fine print around edges and other security measures.

Do these taste any good?

I'm going to try the self service check out at Walmart. I would expect checking out with a cashier there would be grumbling.
Target and walmart auto-check out will still get flagged and you'll need to wait for attendant to approve coupon so YMMV

We get these from Costco when they're on sale. But hey, this one's free!

Been there done that. Back when M&M candy used to award the instant win prizes for free packages of candy by having you print the coupon yourself, I had a nasty cashier at Walgreens who would not let me use printed coupons. Fortunately for me, the manager of the store told her to mind her own business and take those coupons. The manager then confided to me that he too had been playing that same instant win game online and redeeming the coupons.

I put pumpkin spice in my pancake and waffle mix. With a little butter, I'm a happy camper and don't miss the syrup.

What stores will take this coupon? I don't think that Walmart or Target will.
If it scans they probably will take it-- definitely if you do your own checkout. If it doesn't scan Target definitely won't take it and probably walmart as well as it's a coupon that isn't common. Either way if the coupon doesn't scan it's almost certainly because this company doesn't want to lose a lot of $. Let's hope it's reasons for giving out this coupon are good and honest.

I will have to try that! Adding a spice to the mix (cinnamon, pumpkin spice, nutmeg etc) really make these taste like a treat/dessert. Plus the aroma of brown butter+spice is great as well.

I found this on the Walmart site: "Internet (Print-at-Home) Coupons
We gladly accept valid, internet manufacturer coupons for the manufacturer's" items with a GS1 barcode that scans at our register and are not expired.
We do not accept internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.
Internet coupons that display characteristics below will not be accepted:
Blurry
Out of proportion
Do not scan properly
Appear to be altered in any way"

Similar policies not accepting "free item" printed coupons at other stores. Here are the links:

Randalls/SafeWay: https://www.randalls.com/justforu...olicy.html (#18), Target: https://help.target.com/help/subc...earch+help (2nd bullet point under Internet (Print-at-Home) Coupons), and Walmart: https://corporate.walmart.com/policies (2nd bullet point under Internet (Print-at-Home) Coupons).

Anyone tried the coupon linked here on two boxes? Maybe it is supposed to be BOGO and will only ring up that way?
