These used to be great when they came out, it was an easy way to make a pound of cheap hamburger feed a family. Not so much anymore, when is the last time you found cheap hamburger MadMadMadMadMad

I remember eating this as a kid when Hamburger Helper was a new thing. My dad hated it (but ate it anyway). I loved it. It's a nostalgic guilty pleasure for me. Thanks OP.

I've never heard of "Beef Pasta" before, and had too look it up.

it looks like this is a cheese-free option for those of you who may care. Personally, I'm nostalgic for the Stroganoff variety. With extra Sour Cream.

Hamburger helper and Manwich/sloppy joes were Americanized dinner treats my family would have once in awhile when growing up. Looking back now, it's basically ground beef mixed with prepackaged tomato based seasoning/ sauce. Probably doesn't take much effort to make your own version of hamburger helper, just buy the noodles, sauce, cheese, etc separately
You think?

Super slick for 500 grams of carbs. I challenge you to stop at the recommended 1/3 one third cup serving size.

$2.69 a pound here if you buy in bulk. We got a deep freezer and buy 50 pounds at a time. I sit at the counter with a scale and divide it into 1 pound and 2 pound portions for the freezer. We also buy pork chops and chicken in bulk as well. Saves us a couple thousand dollars a year. If you seal it good, it will last 14 months in the freezer.

Try finding bulk meat deals in your area at local meat markets or through farm to table Facebook sites. You will be surprised at what you can save. A couple years ago we even had the opportunity to go in halves on a whole cow. A half was still too much as it was a little over 200 pounds of beef so we split our half with another couple. The farmer did all the butchering and wrapped it all up and marked the packages steak, hamburger, roast, etc. Was really nice and cheaper than the grocery. I would do it every year but I hunt also and always get 2-3 deer per season so we don't need that much beef anymore. We do use the ground beef to add to ground deer meat because deer has very little fat so it's better to mix in some beef to flavor and keep the deer moist while cooking.

Beef Pasta was always my fav flavor. I always added frozen vegetables and Tobasco sauce to it. Man...it was so bad (in a good way) and savory, especially on colder days.
We use sausage sometimes instead of hamburger meat and I like to throw in some chopped onions. My favorite however, is the beef stroganoff.
This stuff goes on sale all the time here though. We have a grocery store called Mac's Fresh Market, they are a small chain in Louisiana and all Hamburger Helper products are $1.18 this week. So if anyone is from Louisiana, find a Mac's and stock up!

Nice deal. We eat these maybe once a month. Great for a quick meal. I usually add some frozen veggie to it. I still pick up cheap ground beef- I try to shop in the morning right after the meats are marked down. Its usually two days till expiration. I come home and food save/freeze it.

All the twin packs have this coupon, including both the stroganoff and the "deluxe" stroganoff, whatever that is.

To much sodium!
This is no lie. I was an adult the first time I ate this. I choked on it because it was so salty. I understand it is garbage but I would still eat it occasionally if they dialed back the salt a bit.

Literally about two hours ago. 75/25 at Kwik Trip (think midwest gas station on steroids when you can even buy household basics at a decent price there). $2/pound, I grabbed a few.

I just looked at the label. 10 servings per box Roll Way to keep the numbers reasonable!

I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?
