I decided to bite on it.
Anyone waiting for the S7 MaxV Ultra should know that they're planning to price it at $1399. The main differences with that one include a camera to avoid obstacles like cables or dog poop, and a self cleaning mop pad. It has higher suction too.
For half the price, I can live without those features.
This vacuum has surpassed my expectations. I have a toddler, mini long haired dachshund, and a golden retriever. I use it on my main floor (~1300 sq ft) which is primarily hardwood, but with a number of area rugs as well.
The app is awesome and there are so many adjustments you can make. For example, in my kitchen, I have it mop more intensely than I have it mop in the dining room that gets way less use. The bagless feature is more satisfying to me because you can see what it picks up and it's easy to empty.
The mopping it does is great for a maintenance clean. I still clean my floors every ~2-3 weeks manually. But nothing beats coming downstairs in the middle of the week to no more doggy paw prints on the floor!
I really wanted to wait for the S7 MaxV Ultra, but I actually think this vacuum meets my needs perfectly. And like another post says, it's probably going to be almost half the price!
For reference, I have previously owned a Roomba: J7, Neato: Botvac Connected, D7 (I still use upstairs where it's just carpet), D9, and D10. Hands down the S7 beats them all combined for my needs.

How does this handle going over transition thresholds like from tile to wood floor with the little "hump" transitions?
I've been watching it for a while as I've been either going to go this route or get it when the max dock was released. Decided to go with this route as it gets great reviews.

Ive got the S4 and it does well on our hardwood and short carpet. Wife wants to pass it along to one of the kids and get us a new one.
