Has anyone tried this?
Don't try this, the person might record your place, and come back steal everything in your house, including your 75in. But, and only if you are disable or unable to move around, and just need some help, this might just for you.

Yeah man! They are going to come back and steal your $700 TV! They won't be able to resist!! You can't hide money!!

LOL

Which liberal controlled crime infested city do you live in?

I paid $600 for my 55" TV hanging outside at my swimming pool area, for all to see. It's hung there for years and no one has bothered it. I was looking at this one to replace it.

If you order this, will you get a VA or IPS version? Is it the luck of the draw, or are they all IPS going forward?

If you see one in a real store, is there a way to tell from the box which panel is inside?

The general rule I've seen is VA models are rated 350W and IPS models are rated 300W. I haven't received my TV yet and don't know if the wattage is printed on the outside packaging.

Lots of discussion in this AVS thread https://www.avsforum.com/threads/...d.3204893/, though not all specific to the 75" version.

No unless you need a 75in. This is IPS and the blacks are gray.
I have this TV. Your statement is 100% incorrect. Not sure where you got this. The TV has an awesome picture. The 1st thing that people notice when they see this TV in my house is how prominent the darker colors are compared to other TVs. I would buy it again. It's a no brainer at this price.

Yes the older version had good blacks the one they are selling now has good grays. In other words you would buy it again but they are not selling it.

I have both 75" versions of this TV.

I bought the newer version first, and mounted it in a game room that always has daylight or lights on when watching. The picture is amazing, and I had no idea it was IPS/ADS until I read all the online debates. So I shut off the lights and ran tests in the dark. In that environment, blacks are very dark on most YouTube test videos because of the local dimming, but dark real content (Expanse, Witcher, etc.) reveals that the blacks aren't inky, and the movie bars are visible.

We wanted another 75 for our movie room, which is almost always dark when we're watching TV, so I looked for, and found, and original VA version. That picture is also amazing, and has inky blacks when the lights are off, with movie bars that disappear.

(I also verified the panel types with pixel pictures.)

For most content, the difference in the blacks between the two isn't noticeable, especially during the day or with lights on. As expected, the original VA panel is better if viewing dark content from a dark room, and the newer IPS/ADS version has slightly better viewing angles.

I do have different backlight levels set: on the newer ADS version I have backlight at 12 (like Rtings.com), and on the original VA version I have backlight set to 37 (like CR), both with auto-dim enabled.

Settings on these TVs have to be tuned to get a great picture; the defaults aren't good. Rtings.com has good suggestions that work for both versions.

The 2 boxes they came in look identical. The only difference on the outside is the serial number sticker - no manufacture date or version info. The backs of the 2 TVs look completely different, but the boxes need to be opened to see them. There are pictures posted on Best Buy (reviews), along with details.

I own this TV. It's great for the $$, but I wish it had an app to control the TV from my phone. Overall great value.
Try the Hisense "RemoteNOW" app. They don't mention it in the manual, but it worked for me on an iPhone 13.

I wish Hisense would make a 75" U8G
There will be a 75" U8H this summer, $1500 though. The 65" will be $1250-1300, 55" around $1000.

Adds mini LED tech, more dimming zones for local dimming

This A6G series is $90 cheaper. Not sure if the two are different or similar enough to warrant the price difference...
Quote from cyciumx :
Previous model. NOT worth saving 90 bucks.
The A6G and U6G are both 2021 models; which, is generally notated by the model ending in in the letter G. A6G is one (1) tier below the U6G but the U6G is considerably better than the A6G according to Rtings. Also the A6G does not qualify for the promo. See the link below for the qualifying models when bought from certain retailers that qualify for the promo.
