Just a heads up---- There is typically a plastic smell while first using the air fryer but that eventually goes away. I washed my unit down, inside and out on all accessible areas, with hot soapy water on a dish rag and also ran the basket & crisper tray in the dishwasher. Then ran the unit on 400* for 20 min in my garage a few times to burn off any remaining "protective coating" from their manufacturing process which causes the smell. It's been a great air fryer since that issue was resolved.

Bear with me, I don't really use exact amounts.

Brush your wings with whatever oil you have available, add garlic powder, salt/pepper, and cajun seasoning, or just paprika if you don't have cajun.

I cook 'em for around 16-18 minutes flipping halfway and then toss them in a sauce made from old bay hot sauce mixed with a little honey or maple syrup and Worcestershire sauce plus I saute onions separately and add them on.

you can also add something like ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side if you want something creamy for dipping.

Wish they would bring back the old model which was 7qt GAF778. That one has a larger cooking area than this one. I know both are 7qt BUT if you know anything about using air fryers you dont wanna stack your food, you want it all spread out. This new model uses less counter space but is much smaller inside

No Costco open yet near me, but that's probably the lowest cost on this. Seems like once you get passed the first use it's a good cheap air fryer.

If I had surplus counter space I'd be tempted, but I can't justify getting a glorified convection oven with the wife.

This thing sucks… I've returned it once and the replacement died within a year. I bought an emerald 5qt from best buy and it's been going strong (knock on wood) since 2020.

Just picked it up yesterday. This is to have a second one in our house of five people. Our first one is a Gourmia also and it has been great. For wings lighted coat in flour after seasoning and then cook at 380 or so for 12 a side.

I tried to give this thing a chance for a few months now, but it's going back to Costco on our next trip.
The smell and taste of burning plastic will not go away. I hoped with time it would be gone after washing and running dozens of times, it still stanks up the whole house.
I bought the Insta Vortex Plus and it is perfect for me. Quiet, easy to use and zero plastic smell.

Bought this in February when it was last on sale. The fumes that comes off this thing are horrible. Even after days of trying to cook off the smell and throwing the basket in the dish washer, it still smelled very strongly. Something is seriously wrong with the plastic used in the model. The smell permeates into anything you cook and actually left a tingling sensation in my mouth. 100% not recommended.

The plastic smell is strong but was able get the smell out by cleaning the interior of the unit and basket. Then poured white distilled vinegar and lemon water into an oven safe bowl and ran it for 10 mins @ 400°F.

We own a toaster oven with a convection feature and this doesn't offer any real advantage in terms of cooking ability. In fact, the toaster oven is mostly metal so plastic off-gassing was never an issue. The oven has heating element rods on top and bottom. Lining the bottom cooking tray with aluminum foil makes cleaning a breeze.

The only advantage Ive noticed using this air fryer is when cooking a batch of small loose items like fries or nuggets. The basket makes tossing them for even cooking much easier and can be done in bulk. Probably best for a family with kids. However we rarely eat such items. We tend to cook fillets of chicken or fish and we don't have to flip them in the toaster oven whereas it's required in the air fryer for even cooking. Pros and cons to everything.
