My 5900x will be here today. Paid 440 for it this time last week... I am personally going 5900x and will be skipping the new chips for a bit. I figure a 5900x and 3080 will carry me for a long while.. plus that will allow all the new chipsets, DDR5, 40 series card to normalize in price and stability.
I own both, go with whatever can be had for cheaper. They are pretty similar in performance.
5600X technically wins on paper but you can't really feel a difference in real world usage.

Awesome. Was regretting canceling the Woot $530 5950x order. This is only $20 more, and I can price match to Best Buy.
Or should I wait for the 3d chip?

I am building a budget gaming desktop... should I go with 5600x or i5-12400?

Bought the $225 Newegg deal a few days ago. Was gonna pass on this because MC is an hour away, but I will do it for an additional $20 in savings. ($65 total savings, over $70 after factoring in sales tax).

....and that makes things tempting. Upgrading from a 2700x could be worth it
