Model numbers are the same. But I used it on a few different Chevy Blazers, Ford Ranger, and a KIA Soul without issues.

I'm glad it works for you. Did you ever try to upgrade it? A lot of entry level obd2 scanner from copy-cat company are sold without any support. It's kinda like hit-or-miss for consumers.

26.4 is like a entry level price for a middle level product(higher end may cost about 100). I really hope it works as it's advertised since Launch is a well-known brand in auto tools. Personally I don't own this device yet. Some reviews on Amazon and youtube report they were unable to upgrade it.

Does this read brake speed sensors independently? That's pretty critical for a go-to scanner. If it doesn't, skip this and spend about $50 on one that does and you will probably thank yourself later.
My 2 cents. I don't have experience with this particular reader but I have purchased a generic handheld and a generic Bluetooth/wifi dongle for use with the torque app on my smart phone. Both work well enough to read out generic codes but not proprietary (srs, traction control, etc) codes. Basically if it's the check engine light, these will most likely read it. If it's another light, ymmv. I upgraded recently to the bludrive dongle, which has support for some proprietary codes but it depends on the vehicle. I can confirm though it does get updates fairly regularly. If you have a newer car it is less likely to be able to read all the codes unless you have a high end tool.

Both work well enough to read out generic codes but not proprietary (srs, traction control, tpms etc) codes. Basically if it's the check engine light, these will most likely read it. If it's another light, ymmv. I upgraded recently to the blueriver dongle, which has support for some proprietary codes but it depends on the vehicle. Seems like bluedriver and carly are the top two consumer level models. I can confirm though it does get updates fairly regularly. If you have a newer car it is less likely to be able to read all the codes unless you have a high end tool.

Update: Ordered yesterday, received today. Following links posted on items page I was able to download update tool, user manuals. Installed update tool, plugged the Launch OBDII scanner into the USB port and updated the scanner successfully within minutes. Build quality is better than I had expected at this price. Very pleased!
My cars have been running well for a few years so I haven't had much need for this kind of thing in a while. But damn there are a lot of $25-$50 obd2 scannerd with their own screens now.
I always struggled to get my bluetooth dongle and torque app to play nice together. Surely these can't be worse than that and for basically the same price too.

ODBLink MX+ has a boatload of these manufacturer special systems. The MX+ edition gives you access to them for any manufacturer free through their scanlink app.
So far they are good about keeping on top of updates.
I've been through a few dongles and of all of them the ODBLink MX+ has been the easiest, most reliable, and met my expectations the best.
The rest have had compatibility issues, limited special system support, or just horrible support from the vendor, including apps that won't work on some versions of android or on tablets.
If you want to buy once and be happy...
Bluedriver might be better if you prefer more hand holding, which is fine, many people want that.

In all seriousness, seems like an okay price for what it is.
