Got R6900P few weeks ago in Acceptable. Came brand new without a box, but already started losing 5G signal. Makes you sign up for a Netgear account during setup, not I get spam from them after unsubbing. Never again will I get Netgear, sh*t company, sh*t product and sh*t warranty (90 days only). Do yourself a favor, don't support them

From Amazon user Dave W,

"Netgear recently switched to a new processor in the current version of the R6700 shipping here on Amazon (the R6700 V2). The new version of the R6700 uses a cheaper MKT processor whose performance is sub par compared to its original Qualcomm processor."

Would pass, unless one is sure they are getting a V1 model and not a V2 model.
These router makers are such scumbags.
Also I think the user meant MTK / MediaTek processor.

That review is from 2018, and says: "Style: AC WiFi" So I think this is the version that is AC and not the AX version.
Wrong info on my part, Dave W review might have been for the AC version not the AX version.

You need to be careful what reviews and q&a you're reading about when it comes to firmware. I have the original r6700 AC (not AX) router and the V2 cannot use other firmware like others have mentioned. I have no idea about the AX version but Amazon lumped all of them together. If you're doing research on the router make sure you're looking for info on the AX and not AC versions.
