Got R6900P few weeks ago in Acceptable. Came brand new without a box, but already started losing 5G signal. Makes you sign up for a Netgear account during setup, not I get spam from them after unsubbing. Never again will I get Netgear, sh*t company, sh*t product and sh*t warranty (90 days only). Do yourself a favor, don't support them

From Amazon user Dave W,

"Netgear recently switched to a new processor in the current version of the R6700 shipping here on Amazon (the R6700 V2). The new version of the R6700 uses a cheaper MKT processor whose performance is sub par compared to its original Qualcomm processor."

Would pass, unless one is sure they are getting a V1 model and not a V2 model.
These router makers are such scumbags.
Also I think the user meant MTK / MediaTek processor.
ssd manufacturers do that do

Picked up the TP Link Archer 21 a couple days ago. This is a similar router with double the ram (512 vs 256). I figure I'll give it a try and compare it to the TP Link.

Yes, I know and its just bad practice from companies like Kingston and PNY also.
I try to stick with Samsung for SSD's now.

Samsung swaps too but not like Kingston and PNY did.

This is very disappointing as I was excited about the AX support, although, I do not have any AX devices, although I could change the modem chip on my laptop. But I do not need any Router issues. It has a feature called Smart Connect that combines the 2.4 and 5GHz bands into a single network and automatically "steers" your device between them as needed this feature drove me crazy as my furthest computer would switch between the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands, radically changing the speed, so turn this feature off and have a separate 2.4 and 5Ghz band.

That review is from 2018, and says: "Style: AC WiFi" So I think this is the version that is AC and not the AX version.

Also, you can install this from a web GUI if you don't want to use their app. Just type in the ip 192.168.1.1 and manually set it up. Their app has actually improved lately but it installs their Armour app one month trial. You can disable the Armour though.

Thanks grabbed 1, don't need it yet but I'm hoping it gives me better WiFi than what xfinity gives with their WiFi router.

What's the deal with "20 concurrent devices" ? Does it limit? I don't understand.

These have a horrible overheating and rebooting problem. Netgear's forums are full of complaints about it.

Router is one of those things to not be too cheap on unless youre living in a san fransisco studio. I mean this wont be better than what your isp gives you
